This lovely lady is Cousin Grace who was a guest at Scarlett and Rhett’s wedding. She is a very RARE Madame Alexander 8 Kins doll. Madame Alexander made her for one year only, 1956, and she is hardly ever seen. She is #632, a Bend Knee Walker. Our Cousin Grace has a beautiful long blond, triple-stitched wig. Her deep blue eyes that open and close freely set off her flawless face. Her eyebrows are well defined and the lashes under her eyes have not faded. She has delicate cheek blush to go with her delicate coloring. She wears a cream colored, silk full length gown with a scattered coral rose design. The bodice has a scoop neck and puffy long sleeves closing with elastic at the cuffs. There is a magenta ribbon at her waist decorated with two circles of pearls. The skirt is two teared and very full. It is tagged at the back of the neck with a tag saying, Alexander-kins, by Madame Alexander. The tag has turquoise writing on the white (slightly age darkened) fabric tag. She wears an incredible HAT trimmed with the same magenta ribbon, two magenta silk roses and a tiny sprig of white flowers. The ensemble is finished off with a full length white slip bordered in white vintage lace and matching bloomers. The elastic is unstretched in both. She wears pink side-snap shoes with white (aged slightly) nylon socks. The slip, bloomers, and shoes are replacements. As shown in the photos, there is a bit of red on this doll’s stomach as a result of fabric transfer. The back of her hair has glue residue. And, there is a very minor discoloration about mid-back. It is so subtle I could not capture it in a photo. The waist ribbon may have been shortened as it is not long enough to make an appropriate bow in the back. I just discovered a snag of approximately 1/4 in the right rear of the dress. It is shown in the last photo. Until September 7 before returning to my home in Panama. Please study the photos.
