This Cissy has beautiful coloring. She is hard plastic with vinyl arms and I do see a “split in the bottom of one of her arms”. See picture Needs a little light cleaning of her arms. She is in original lace TAGGED Chemise teddy. She has her shoes and stockings (one torn see pictures). She had her box but it has seen better days it is crushed. Marked style 2081 blonde hair. Wow what a beautiful doll! This particular doll really knocks me out. Her coloring is just fantastic. She has a light brown/tosca wig that is tight to her head and full of shine. Tosca is not my favorite hair color but occasionally you get one that is particularly pretty and to me that is the case with this doll. Her facial coloring is perfection. She has a matte finish to her plastic and her original cheek color is really bright. What really brings it all together are her dark pupiless eyes. Her darling outfit is in great condition. The blue felt coat has no holes or stains and is a beautiful color blue that has not faded or yellowed. A couple of the buttons on the sleeve have lost a little color but it does not detract in any way. Her matching hat is also just beautiful with no holes or stains and the white pom poms are still very white and not yellowed. Her white dress is in good condition and is a nice white color which is free of holes, tears or odors. There is one tiny brown spot on the back of the dress in a fold that is really hard to see unless you know it is there and you are looking for it. Under the dress is a star slip and bloomers. They are both in excellent. With nice tight original stretch to the elastic. To finish off the outfit she wears a perfect pair of black fuzzy bottom shoes and white socks. All together I think this is such a fantastic and beautiful doll that will stand out in your collection. Please take a look at all my other vintage Alexander offerings this week. I received this doll for Christmas in 1954. It was a “Little Women” doll, but I can’t remember which sister it was supposed to represent…. I think it was Meg. I was not allowed to play with it. It sat on top of my dresser for many years and then in a box in a closet. The condition is amazing considering she is 60+ years old. There is slight discoloration on the body, but the arms and legs are still fairly tight and she holds a position with no problem. The hair is nearly perfect. The clothes are all original, with an attached tag on the dress. Her underpants are attached at the waist to the petticoat (it is one piece). The boning in the petticoat has gotten stiff so does not make a perfect circle, but the skirt still stands out well when she is dressed. Her dress has the original cotton sewn into the bodice to create breasts (see photo). Her nylon stockings are still good…. There is a hole in the foot of one but it does not show when she has her shoes on. The dress is about as perfect as you could expect and has been washed (the petticoat, too) because it smelled musty. Her black bonnet is a little discolored (the black has faded) and the elastic at the back is not tight, but it still looks ok. The hat originally had a pink feather and she had black lace half-gloves on when I got her, but unfortunately the feather and gloves are gone. Her face is beautiful. Her eyes open and shut when she is laid flat, and when she “walks”, her head moves from side to side. I believe she is rare. Someone from Australia informed me that this doll is not a Little Women doll. She says they only came in the 14 size. She said this doll is from the Madame Alexander Edwardian Glamour Girl 1953 series. I was only 8 years old when I got this doll and my mother always said it was a Little Women doll. Here today is a gorgeous 20 inch hard plastic and vinyl Cissy doll wearing her original lavender sheath outfit made by Madame Alexander in 1957. Cissy is a painted beauty with her gorgeous crystal clear open and close vivid blue eyes, full set of hair lashes, painted lower lashes, stroked eyebrows, lightly blushed cheeks and coral painted lips. The whites of Cissy’s stunning eyes are very white and the blue is very blue with just a very tiny speck of green. She is in her original shiny blonde wig in its original set. Although it doesn’t appear her hair has ever been combed she does have a few fly aways. Cissy still retains some of the blush on her knees and backs of her hands. I don’t see any unwanted marks on her but her arms and fingers could use a light washing. Cissy’s fingers and toes are perfect and intact. It doesn’t appear she has any loose joints although her head has a slight wobble at times but that may be a characteristic of vintage Cissy’s. It doesn’t really feel loose or prohibit her from holding posses. As shown in the last picture she does have a small upper leg split that is pretty much up into the hip socket. I don’t see any other splits or cracks. Her knees and arms bend as they should. Cissy is wearing her original tagged 1957 beautiful silky satin lavender sheath dress with matching outer detachable full skirt. I don’t see any issues at all with her sheath dress that closes in the back with 5 original intact square snaps. It still has the original rose flowers at the V neckline with stand up collar and 3/4 length sleeves, lined in off white fabric. The detachable wrap skirt closes at the front with a single original square snap embellished with an attached matching bow, lined in off white fabric. The wrap skirt has a slight bit of a lighter color change near the front opening but does not show to much. To complete Cissy’s outfit she is wearing the beautiful correct open crown pale pink hat with 3 layers of netting, scattered flowers and a pink satin bow in at the back, her original silver stretch strap high heels, nylons and her faux diamond ring. As seen in a couple of pictures she is wearing an original flowered rhinestone earring. There are actually 2 of them included but both need to have new stems added before they can be worn. Cissy is wearing very nice vintage tagged undergarments, blue slip with lace hem, matching blue lace panties and a matching lace strapless bra that closes in the back with a hook and eye. They appear to have been made for the Cissy or other fashions dolls of that era. With the exception of the above mentioned issues beautiful Cissy and her gorgeous outfit are in excellent vintage condition. Although I don’t see any stains the outfit could probably stand to be dry cleaned and pressed. Thanks for taking a look and God Bless. With her Fashion Academy Award, this lovely black “Cynthia” walker doll from Madame Alexander has been in in our family for many years as a member of a special aunt’s collection of beautiful dolls. She has never been played with and has been used only for display in a closed china cabinet. Her plastic body is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. Her arms are loose, and there is one very fine line, at the right side of her mouth, which I can see with a magnifying glass. Her paint/finish on her right pinky finger is chipped. Cynthia’s face is from a Madame Alexander “Margaret” mold,, and she has a beautiful facial complexion and perfect facial coloring. Her clear brown sleep eyes work properly, and her brush lashes are intact. Her pretty black hair is in the original “set, ” upswept at the front sides, curled-under bangs, and a pulled together at the back neck in a rolled curl accented with a yellow satin ribbon bow. The upswept portion is held in place by some sort of dark wire hair barrette. The back of her “do” is slightly flattened from her positioning in the china cabinet. Doll stand is not included. Technically a 15-Inch doll, this Cynthia stands 14 1/2 Inches tall, and her head turns from side to side as her legs move in a walking motion. The clothing on this doll has never been removed. She is wearing a knee-length dress of yellow cotton organdy. The dress has a scooped neckline, short puffed sleeves, a gathered waist, and a full skirt with a double gathered flounce at the bottom. The bodice is a double layer of the fabric, and the single-layer skirt is over an attached underskirt of white taffeta. The neckline, sleeves and skirt are accented with a pretty narrow white lace, and the same lace accents the underskirt. The dress closes at the back bodice with four small snaps, and a wide yellow satin ribbon sash ties in a bow at the waistline. Cynthia’s white taffeta panties close in the back with one small snap and are accented at the straight legs with a white lace. On the dress tag… A tag on the underskirt reads… Ellis Stone Greensboro, N. D97 LSL F4 94 1531 9.95. Ellis Stone was a department store in Greensboro, North Carolina, where my husband’s grandmother and two aunts shopped for dolls for their collections. The one surviving aunt is now residing in a special memory care unit. White knitted ankle socks and black “leather” Mary Janes and a yellow bow in her hair complete Cynthia’s Fashion Academy Award ensemble. Around her neck, hanging from a gold twine, is a metal/brass Fashion Academy Award medal. MADAME ALEXANDER NEW YORK KINNEY PROV. She is not maker marked that I can see but she’s a Madame Alexander L Wendy Ann face with original Scarlett O’Hara labeled dress. She is all composition & is jointed at neck, shoulders, and hips with neck & shoulder joints being too loose to hold all poses. Her face paint looks original & doesn’t show any wear. She has vibrant blue sleep eyes with attached brown lashes intact. Scarlett does have some light crazing but not chips or crack separations found. There is a small flw to inner leg at joint & some minor rubwear around joints. Wig is original & still very nice; just a wee bit mussed. All of her garments are original with no visible stains or damage. There was a stitch repair done in back of dress at waistbsnd pulling it in too much & didn’t allow me to undress her for complete inspection & nude pics. Her garments are a bit dust soiled overall Don’t let her get away! I wouldn’t sell her if I didn’t have to! Hard to find, especially this nice & complete! NO DOLL STAND IS INCLUDED! Here is an original 18 portrait which I BELIEVE is Hulda from the transitional period about 1949. There is so little information about the Hulda doll, it is hard to be sure. This doll has the fancier face painting associated with Hulda. Her gown is more elaborate than most of the outfits associated with Hulda and it is likely very few have survived. She has the strung jointed head, arms and legs, marked on the back of the head “Alexander” an Alexander tag on the gown and a wrist tag. Her facial features are very distinct, skin colored in a satin finish, heavy dark feathered eyebrows, blue sleep eyes, full lashes, and a dark mohair wig. She wears a beige laced taffeta gown with puff sleeves, underclothes, long stockings, pink shoes, black lace mitts. A flowered straw hat and carries an Alexander “Fashion Award” hat box with contents as pictured. Overall the doll is in very good condition, as is the clothing, all as pictured.
