Madame Alexander Dolls

Here, for your consideration is one of the most beautiful dolls I have ever seen. This is a 20 inch Cissy from 1955, based on the information in my book. She is called “Blue Waltz”. Her gown is Blue heavy slipper satin with silver braid and “sapphire” accents. I just realized I see where one rhinestone is missing, but you can’t really tell unless you pick the fabric up and inspect it closely. I suppose it could be replaced. LOL Her gown has capped sleeves and is design detailed. She is wearing her matching slip with netting layers trimmed with satin ribbon. She is wearing panties, back seamed stockings and she will bring her original strappy heels. I put them in a little plastic bag and tied them to her arm, for fear of losing them. The elastic is stretched out, as so many of them are. In my opinion, she is drop dead gorgeous. She has a little white feather fan, but I do believe it is a replacement, as is her beautiful bandeau hat which seems to be a lovely copy of the original one. Notice the blue showing in her eyes. Based on everything I have been told and have learned, this is the original doll in her original gown with matching slip. Cissy does not appear to have any crotch cracks or knee cracks. She seems to have all her eyelashes and her face paint is just beautiful. Her coloring all over is just lovely, in my opinion. Now, there are some stains on the dress, not bad in my opinion, but I want to mention them. I took a picture of the ones on the back of her gown. In my opinion, they are not noticeable anywhere when she is on display, but you have to look closely to see them. They kind of disappear in the folds of that beautiful satin. Her hair appears to me to be mostly in the original set. Note the longer bangs. Oh yes, I just noticed you can see a small amount of the wig cap through her “hair” if you look closely. I really don’t know her history. This is the way she came to me. She isn’t absolutely perfect, but she is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. That is all I know to tell you right now. Up for sale is this GORGEOUS and Rare 18 Mary Louise from Madame Alexander’s Me and My Shadow series from 1954. I have been told that as rare as this doll is, much, much more rare is finding her with her Yellow striped gloves! She is a beautiful doll, with a Cissy face, and amazing golden yellow braids that are pinned up with shiny perfect curls at each cheek. Her eyes are a lovely blue, she has full eyelashes, lovely eye shadow, two stroke brows and pink lips. Her blush is pretty too, though she does have a “rub” on her left cheek. She is wearing a full-skirted burnt orange taffeta dress with crisp tag, black trim at neckline, bust and at her wrists. Her original olive green wool jacket and hat with cream trim, rickrack and adorned with a few tiny metal flowers at the small of her back and on the top of her head, are in excellent condition as well. No moth holes that I can see. Her hat is kept on her head by a lovely mustard yellow velvet ribbon which wraps around her braids and over her head. Her yellow gloves with black stripes match the yellow ribbon nicely and are in excellent condition as well. Her light cream taffeta underskirt/hoop-slip is still crisp, as are her pantaloons. Her black velvet shoes are in excellent condition with fuzzy soles. She also has her black and gold hatbox in lovely condition. She comes from a smoke and pet free home, and is without odors.
