The entire bodice was created with ruching and it certainly flatters Cissy’s figure! This gown has three layers, the top layer is plum colored embroidered net, the attached underskirt is plum satin, and the third layer is a slip constructed with pale lavender lightweight taffeta & crinoline, with lace-trimmed panties to match. Closure of the gown is at the back with four square snaps. Cissy wears a matching shawl to ward off the chill, and has chosen a gorgeous rhinestone brooch, earrings, bracelet & ring to give this red carpet dress the pizzazz it deserves. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind Ice Capades Cissy! This Ice Capades Cissy was made as a prototype for the Ice Capades 20th addition 1960-61 show called Tosca from Operama. The Ice Capades partnered with Madame Alexander during it’s popularity and Madame gave them dolls to work on for the costuming that would later be made for the skaters. These dolls are far and few between and they are an amazing historical value. This Cissy has a gorgeous sequined dress and large hat with boa feathers. The detailing and jewelry accoutrements are amazing. This doll is featured on the Second Series Madame Alexander Collector’s Dolls book by Patricia R. Please note that the costuming does not come off of this doll. As it was a prototype for the upcoming costuming, it is all sewn right on the doll.
