He is all tight, recently re-strung after years of being in a box. He has yellow blonde caracul wig. Has BLACK PUPILESS EYES. He wears a mint pink satin outfit and matching hat with white pompons. Satin ribbon tie shoes with fuzzy soles. Along with him is his inseparable dark brown “reindeer” his outfit’s tag: Alexander-Kin. These are two of Madame Alexander’s original Little Women dolls, Jo and Marme, c. 1948 and 1949, bought for me at the now-defunct Atlanta landmark, Rich’s Department Store, as a tacit reward/bribe for behaving at the dentist’s office. They are 14-inch dolls that were never playthings, so they are in excellent condition. Their clothing has the cloth labels on the back of the dresses. Each lady has an underslip, pantaloons, stockings and shoes. My only granddaughter has never been interested in dolls, so the sale will go towards her college education.
