Madame Alexander Dolls

It is unclear how old this doll is. That consistently say 1952 yet Patricia Smith’s “Doll Value” 10th ed. States that this 18 version was made from 1939-42. Whatever the case, she is in excellent condition. The only thing that prevents me from listing her as mint/ near mint is that her hair is slightly mussed and, although she will stand unassisted, she is loosely strung and won’t hold poses. Her arms and legs are rigid, of course. The items I’m auctioning were bought new by my family and have been stored in various locations over the years, all of which were smoke free environments. I have cleaned any dust and dirt as best as possible before photographing them, but some will undoubtedly remain. A gorgeous doll that is so very hard to find, especially in this nice condition! Bright rosy cheeks and red lips, no rubs or scratches. Blue sleep eyes with all their lashes. Ash blonde wig factory styled in 2 side buns. The body is strung just right so she is easy to pose, no unwanted hard plastic odors. Fabulous tagged gown that has a very faded gold mark, as pictured, on the right front pleating that is almost impossible to see as the fabric has an iridescence glow. Cotton slip with lace trim that matches her pantaloons. Slip has gold dotting that looks to wash out. White rayon socks, black center snap oilcloth shoes with bow ornaments.
