Vintage 1939 Mme Alexander 18 Composition Sonja Henie Doll Original NM. Scroll down for larger views. This doll is Sonja Henie, made by Madame Alexander around 1939. She is 18” high, jointed at the neck, shoulders & hips. Sonja has a gorgeous face with bright original coloring, brown sleep eyes, intact sable lashes, painted lashes below her eyes, gray eye shadow, feathered brows, an open smiling mouth w/six teeth, very rosy cheeks, and cute dimples. Her face is pristine. No crazing, cracks or rubs. Her eyes are also completely clear. She wears her original golden-blonde human hair wig, still in the original set with curls, clips, and pins intact. The wig is gorgeous. The body is also excellent, made of high-quality composition with rosy knees and hands. Again, original paint without crazing or other problems. Her stringing is fine. Sonja wears her original tagged red velveteen skating outfit. Decorated with gold sequins, with an attached net petticoat, and red satin panties. On her head is a cute matching hat/bow. The outfit is clean, bright, and odor-free. She also wears her original gold foil ice skates with original ties. One skate has half the blade missing, absolutely the only flaw on the flawless doll.
