Madame Alexander Dolls

This is a very nice 1957 Madame Alexander Simple Satin Ballerina Elise doll. She wears her original tagged tutu of satin and tulle with abundant underlayers of tulle for rich fullness. There may be a few tiny holes in the tulle but if they are there, they don’t show amid all the layers. Beneath the tutu ruffles is the satin panty section. Elise wears her flower trimmed headpiece in her hair. Matching original flower swag on her tutu bodice. The flowers could use a quick steaming to reform them because they are a bit flattened from storage. Pink pantyhose with no runs and pink ribbon trimmed pink slippers. Slippers are a little dirty so could use a wipe down. No seam splits on the doll. Pretty clear blue eyes, shiny blonde hair, and round pearl earrings. Not mint but yet very nice vintage Elise doll. This is a far from mint 1959 Madame Alexander Blue Pleated Bridesmaid Elise doll. She wears her original gown. There are five areas in the skirt section of the gown that have some tears as seen in the photos. Beneath the gown she wears her original tagged half slip. It is very wrinkled and needs to be pressed. She also wears a seamstress made blue chiffon half slip for fullness and to enhance the blue color of the gown. She has no stockings or shoes. There are two seam splits on the doll’s knee areas as shown in one of the photos. Some of the beads on the pearl necklace and the earrings have lost their finish. The metal on the jewelry is tarnished. Elise’s face has been fully repainted. Not well done but it does give her a bright color. One of the photos shows a good closeup on the repaint so you can see it well. Her best features are her lovely brunette wig and very pretty bright blue eyes. Please look at all the photos carefully as they are part of the description. CONS: Not a mint doll. Some necklace beads and earrings have lost their pearl finish. Some tarnish on jewelry metal. No stockings or shoes. Five spots of torn pleated organza on gown. Wrinkled underslip, needs to be ironed. Added blue chiffon half slip. Replaced flowers on bodice. Two seam splits on knee areas.
