Vintage 1947 18 Composition Madame Alexander A/O Alice in Wonderland Doll. This doll wears her original Alice in Wonderland costume from 1947. Although it appears that the tag has been cut off – it is an easily recognizable outfit. Alice also has her original wig and sleep eyes. Only her hair ribbon has been replaced. The doll has been cleaned and craze controlled due to light crazing. Alice has a very nice condition body and pretty face. She is all composition and is jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. She has clear grey/blue sleep eyes with thick brush lashes. Her face paint includes eye shadow and single stroke eyebrows, painted lower lashes, light cheek blush and painted closed mouth. She is a “Margaret face” Alexander doll with. Original blushing on her hands and knees. Her original mohair wig is styled. With short bangs, pulled back with a black ribbon in the typical Alice in Wonderland style. This doll has had a very light restoration, by me. That means that she has been cleaned, craze controlled and sealed. Her face paint has not been touched up. Her fingers and toes are perfect and have not been repaired. She has just been restrung – fairly loosely because composition dolls that are strung too tightly develop side head or torso cracks from the stress. Her costume is all original and had been recently laundered and it has been recently pressed. One snap on a shoe was repaired with tape under the strap. Her hair ribbon is a replacement. Lovely Alice is ready to join your collection! MARK: ALEXANDER on head and back. Very Good very lightly restored condition. Nicely painted facial features. Clear sleep eyes with thick lashes. Wearing her thick original, mohair wig which is thinning on the ends. She can stand and pose. Perfect fingers and toes without any repairs or rebuilds. No cracks, Light to moderate crazing, No flaking, lifting, chips or large stains. Costume is all original and in good condition. The blue dress looks faded. Dress is not tagged – but it looks like the remnant of a tag where it was cutoff the back of the dress. Costume is in good condition. Apron has one small hole in ron (pictured) Shoes have one side snap the has been repaired – and it does not open and close. (pictured) Other shoe snap works using care. Missing her original box. Not mint but nice for display. Face paint is complete with sleep eyes and molded lashes. Wig is firmly attached and appears to be in the original set. Body has decent stringing with slightly loose head. Bent knees with no cracks or splits. She will come dressed in her original tagged vintage outfit. The elastic straps on the shoes are a little stretched and one is missing the heel as shown. Her pearls have some wear to the luster and the hat may be a vintage addition. I added some jewlery to her hands… No cracks in legs or arms… Don’t see the cracks in hip areas where legs go inside, but I think way up very very high there is somewhat a tiny crack, very hard to see…. But this has been on the leg like that since I first bought her so many years ago…. Since I have had her for a very long time, I finally took her out from a truck, and noticed her slip has some threads in the elastic… Lower price to help it sell… Still a WONDERFUL DOLL.. 20 all Original Jane Withers Child Star doll, in unplayed with condition, Alexander Jane Withers doll, composition with socket head, sleep eyes, real lashes, open mouth, row of teeth, Super full and softbrunette mohair curled wig, in original set, jointing at shoulders and hips. The doll is wearing her original dainty dress with pink organdy yoke and sleeves, flowered cream cotton attached pinafore. Muslin slip and panties, socks, side-snap white shoes, extremely hard to find, wovenp pale pink hat with pink banding. The dress has original cloth tag Jane Withers/. She is in wonderful condition, some crazing on the legs with the worse on the inside of both legs an open line down the length of both, they have been stablized with craze control so they display very well , the arms have some craze but minor, there is a small craze line below both eyes see pics, this is common with these Janes, but her is very minor compaired to the usual crazing. Her eyes are both crazed, Original dress has some soiling from display but its still crisp, could be laundered, no damage or rips.
