Madame Alexander Dolls

From my own collection. Up for your consideration is a Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll – 20. Tall with blue eyes and honey blond hair. She has been totally restored by Cissy expert Deborah Foster of. In 2016 and is in excellent condition. All joints work and are tight (so be careful when you pose her). This is what Deb had to say about my doll: This 1957 to mid-1959 Cissy is a color-infused doll. When dressed in the frilly gown, the back section of her hair is untied and worn in loose curls. Unfortunately, my Cissy does not have the beautiful, #2282 frilly white gown. But she does have an original black chemise. The chemise is in good shape with a few holes (please see photos). And a beautiful (marked Cissy/Madame Alexander) navy blue dress made of taffeta. The dress is in excellent condition without any damage. She also has a new crinoline half slip (the waist is too large so I used a safety pin to hold it up), and her original shoes that have been restored by me. I put new soles on the shoes. She comes with her earrings, black chemise, slip, blue dress, and shoes. Please see photos as they are part of the description. Although she has been restored, there are a few marks on the body as pointed out in the photos. Here are the things that Deb restored. Removed & reseated wig. Cleaned & styled wig. Touched up body paint. Blushed hands & knees. Repaired & finished knee and hip split. Removed eye paint, repainted, base, shadow, lashes, brows. Replaced lashes left eye. Removed & balanced eye rocker. For some reason, her eyes wont close, but all her lashes are there and her eyes are. Beautiful blue and the whites of her eyes white. For your consideration is an adorable Vintage 1957 Madame Alexander #399 Bend Knee Walker. As you can see in the pictures, she is able to hold positions with/without a stand. She is a walker she turns her head when you move her legs in a walking manner. Wendy wears a white swiss dot dress with rows of lace on the skirt as well as the sleeves and neckline. Her dress is tied with a beautiful blue satin ribbon sash. She wears her original shoes which are stitched and have a fuzzy soles. Vintage 1935 Alexander Dionne Quints Quintuples Toddlers 8 Doll Set in Basket. Scroll down for larger views. She was an only child who had wonderful dolls, carefully stored for many years. This is the set of Dionne Quintuplet Toddler Dolls, made around 1936, marked: Alexander on their backs. Made by Madame Alexander. Each doll is 8” high, all composition, jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. The dolls have adorable faces, with bright coloring, original paint, painted brown side-glancing eyes, painted lashes & brows, red lips, and still rosy cheeks. The paint is excellent and there is no crazing or other issues on the faces. Each wears her original brunette mohair wig, still in the original set. The wigs are soft & clean, without missing or cut pieces. The bodies are also excellent. They have straight legs with cute toddler bodies. The paint is bright, with no re-paint or touch-ups. The knees and hands are still rosy. One doll has two small spots of chipped paint on the back of one foot, a second doll has a tiny paint rub on two finger tips. Otherwise all seem to be as they should. They have also been re-strung. The dolls come in their original hard-to-find wicker Picnic Basket with hinged lid, four metal fasteners and two handles (12 x 15” x 7.5” high when closed). It’s in nice shape with the original pink ruffled pillow inside the basket. The other side has the clothing, but no liner. Just a light water stain on the pillow. Included in the Basket: All 5 tagged organdy dresses and 4 matching organdy bonnets, 3 white organdy petticoats w/panties, 4 cotton pique rompers and all five matching bonnets, all five knit swimsuits (dolls are wearing these in photo), 5 flannel nightgowns (4 are pink, 1 is blue), 9 white oilcloth center-snap shoes, and 2 brass name pins (Cecille & Annette). The organdy dresses & bonnets are in very good to excellent condition. The petticoats/panties are fine, one has a little stain. The rompers & bonnets are in good to very good condition with only minor wear. The knit swimsuits are in good to very good condition. The flannel nightgowns are fine. The shoes do have play wear. Two shoes have a broken snap. The pins are in very good condition. It is rare to find this set in such excellent condition, with no hint of crazing. The clothing is also clean and unfaded. Plus the basket is nice. These charming little dolls have been hidden in a closet for many years and need a new home! Please see our listings for more vintage dolls from this estate. This is the 1967 Madame Alexander Renoir portrait doll. This is big sister. See the photo above to see big and little sister together. Big sister is a beautiful Madame Alexander portrait doll. Her brown eyes are set in such a way that she seems a bit mischievous. She may have a joke to tell. She is wearing a cheerful red taffeta hat with flowers, a sleeveless navy blue gown trimmed with lace, and over it, a tight cut jacket with lace-trimmed sleeves and a flower at the waist. If you have Marjorie Uhl’s book Madame Alexander’s Ladies of Fashion, a full description of her is found on page 125. One of the photos shows all that comes with her. Her hat and dress are original. The rest is replacement. Her new pearl earrings match the original. Her red sandals are Madame Alexander original, but the elastic has stretched. She has a new short crinoline petticoat that works well with her dress, new hosiery, and bloomers. She is in good condition except for some leg cracks as mentioned above, none of them dangerous. She has flawless eyes, her original complexion, and her hair in its original carefully pinned chignon. Vintage Mid 50′s Madame Alexander Cissy. Doll in excellent condition – beautiful coloring. Medium brown hair is in original set. She is wearing a white organdy gown – puff sleeves. Bodice is trimmed with insertion lace and red ribbon with a wide red satin ribbon around waist, tying with bow in back. Gown skirt is trimmed in Val lace and tiny red roses. She carries a red satin drawstring purse and wears a beautiful white hat that is a Richard creation. A petticoat of cotton is sewn to the gown, and an additional gown is underneath this.
