Featured here is an exquisite Madame Alexander 1949 Lucy Bride Doll in her original ivory satin gown, with long tapering sleeves and a drop waist, and rhinestone bodice. IT has a lovely square neck edged in lace, with slightly puffed sleeves at the shoulders. It snaps down the back and is TAGGED with the fabric Madame Alexander Doll Co. She has her original tiny white bead necklace, her original ivory satin snap shoes, back seamed hose, and lace trimmed satin panties. Her gown has an underskirt or slip sewn to it at the drop waist for fullness. NOTE: This doll is missing her original veil, but I have put vintage fabric flowers at her temples in the same place and style as the original doll’s head decor. She also carries an added vintage satin hand basket with satin ribbon handles and trailing fabric flowers and satin ribbons. It can be carried nicely in either hand or over her wrist. This doll has the suntan body of the early Madame Alexander Margaret dolls; she has her dark brunette hair done up in its original set, pulled back in tight curls behind her ears and along the back of her neck. She has wonderful open and close eyes, painted eye brows, all her eye lashes, full painted lips and rosy cheeks. The “Margaret” faced dolls are some of the most beautiful made by Madame Alexander, in my opinion. This doll has flat feet, not “high heel feet” and poses nicely in a doll stand. A doll stand will be included so that she is ready for display. This doll has been kept in a darkened doll room in my SMOKE FREE and PET FREE home, in a doll cabinet. She shows no sign of any sun fading. I take great care to wrap my dolls so that they do not move around in transit. She will be insured and come with signature confirmation to ensure you receive her safely. 12 Lissy Classic –Cinderella. (MADAME ALEXENDAR COLLECTOR’SDOLL PRICE GUIDE # 15 – PATRICIA SMITH). Picture Perfect – Alloriginal. Golden hair in original setwith hair ornament of stones. Gown of pale blue satin witha tiny pin hole 1 inch below her right hand. Matching lace is ruffled atneckline, sleeves and cascades from waist following all around the skirt. A pattern of gold sequins from shoulder, makes a pattern down front of skirt. Of pink roses is at her waist. Carefully check multiplepictures to see all details. For your consideration an gorgeous Vintage Madame Alexander from the “Me and My Shadow Series” 1954, Straight Leg Walker, hard plastic red head. This doll was originally a bride but she has lost her wedding gown so I have redressed her in a gown belonging to the 1955 Story Princess doll. The doll is in very good to excellent condition for her age. Her lovely medium blond wig is one of only two formal hairstyles made for the large Binnie doll and short of some flyaways, is in great condition and still has the curled bangs and most of the fine net snood. Her eyes are a lovely blue and her eyelids (are not scratched) and her eyes have all her lashes and open and close well. Her eyebrows are a bit faint but clearly visible. She also has a bit of a brown mark under her right eye which might come off but I didn’t try. She has no neck splits but she does have a crotch split which is so common to these dolls. If you put your nose up close to her leg joints and crotch split you can very faintly smell the odor that is so common with these dolls. I never smelled it until I took off her panties to check for the crotch split before listing her. She has one noticeable mark on her body near her top left thigh that is a bit of a scratch but other than that marks are from normal light play wear on her arms and legs. She walks like a champ and her head turns well. Her gown is from the 1955 Story Princess doll made exclusively for Montgomery Ward. It is tagged Madame Alexander. It is a peachy pink brocade and is hard to find. It is not lined, has a Madame Alexander tag and has been cleaned. It does have a few minor seam repairs that are nearly indistinguishable. The gown no longer had its flowers at the waist when I got it so I have pinned some vintage flowers there which you can replace easily if so inclined. The pink taffeta slip is handmade (but looks perfect with the gown) which has a band at the waist line and a snap to keep it closed. There is one small water type stain on the slip. The slip fits beautifully except the waist was sized for a slimmer doll, so someone added an extension piece to enlarge the waist. A talented seamstress should be able to repair this. She has original pale pink undies with somewhat stretched elastic. She is wearing a replacement vintage fur stole, a vintage simulated pearl doll necklace which has been tied on and a floral swag of vintage flowers has been pinned in her hair. Her shoes are not original and the right one has a sole which has lost the top layer and the heel so the bottoms of the two shoes do not match. There is a slight stain on one of the shoes. The shoes look fine from the top in that you can’t tell the heel is missing from one shoe. The snaps work well. She also comes with a Winnie Walker pale pink organza type dress with a crinoline underslip. The dress has lace on the front bodice and there used to be pearls on the bodice but they are long gone and there are tiny holes where they used to be. The first underslip has pink lace and it is attached to the undershirt/bodice. The pink organza dress is on top of it. There are three tiny pearl type buttons in the back and a tie that is tied in a bow. The undergarment has a tear near the left back armpit and in the front top of that armit. I have shown this in the picture above. The dress has a couple of faint stains on it – one is on the middle on the front – it is a little yellow. There is a little hole on the underskirt garment in the back near the butt. She also has a second crinoline type slip under the first one with white lace and pink ribbon through the lace. The outfit comes with white and pink socks Her dress is tagged in the back “Winnie Walker Madame Alexander New York, NY”. The dress and underslip are in fair condition. It is roughly 65 years old and shows wear and playtime. IMPORTANT: This doll is rare and hard to find and she is wearing a hard to find formal gown. Please understand both doll and outfit have been lightly played with. She is 65 years old and is not for the purist. I have tried to describe her to the best of my ability and list every flaw that I see. I have described this listing to the best of my ability. Keep checking back for more vintage.
