TAGGED “WINNIE WALKER” PUFFED SLEEVE PINAFORE “BOUQUET” PRINT COTTON FABRIC DRESS with POLISHED COTTON “PETER PAN” COLLAR trimmed in ORIGINAL GREEN RICKRACK matching GREEN RICKRACK TRIM on her SWEEPING SKIRT! Pink polished cotton fabric STILL HAS ORIGINAL “SHEEN”. This appears to be an unwashed original outfit. With DARK INK CRISP ORIGINAL DRESS TAG. Felt Hat does have a tiny “age” related holes and “wear” at the back, as shown in closeup photo of her ORIGINAL TAG. New “pearl” hatpins have been added to secure hat. NEW CUSTOM MADE PINK SATIN RIBBON TRIMMED CRINOLINE has been added for EXTRA SKIRT STRUT. ORIGINAL PINK VELVETEEN SNAP SHOES with “age related rubs on edges” and in place on top—please see photos as they are part of my description. Both shoes have SOFT VELVETEEN BOTTOMS WITH BOTH ORIGINAL HEELS. PLUS ORIGINAL SILKY SOCKS. MISS WINNIE IS A “WALKER” DOLL—HER HEAD MOVES FROM SIDE TO SIDE WHEN SHE TAKES STEPS! THIS BEAUTY HAS INCREDIBLE VIVID ORIGINAL FACE COLOR: PRECISELY PAINTED CHERRY RED LIPS! Hand painted MULTI-STROKE ORIGINAL BROWS & DELICATE UNDER EYE LASHES. ORIGINAL REDHEAD WIG with ORIG CURLS—PLUS ORIGINAL BRASS BARRETTES I found “buried” under her ORIGINAL CURLS, ONE BARRETTE ON EACH SIDE OF HER PRETTY LITTLE HEAD! ORIGINAL CRYSTAL CLEAR IRIDESCENT PINWHEEL SLEEP EYES with FULL ORIGINAL BRUSH LASHES. MISS WINNIE WALKER IS “NEAR MINT”—SHE IS NOT “MINT”—with a few age related marks on her legs. I have not undressed this Beauty so I cannot comment on her torso but she appears to be in exceptional condition for her age. A Blonde Version of this Winnie Walker Doll, the more common version, wearing this identical ensemble, is photographed in color on page 50 of the book MADAME ALEXANDER DOLLS ON REVIEW by Marjorie V. The caption under the photo states that this 1952 doll was not shown in the Madame Alexander Catalogue for that year. MOST DOLL REFERENCE BOOKS DATE THIS DOLL TO BE MADE IN 1953. THIS “CISSY FACE” BEAUTY IS THE FIRST USE OF THE “CISSY FACE” that would go on to become the hard plastic doll face for THE FAMOUS 1955 MADAME ALEXANDER HIGH HEELED FASHION DOLL CISSY! SO ACTUALLY THIS DOLL IS A BIG BEAUTIFUL CISSY DOLL! However unlike “CISSY”, this doll has an entirely HARD PLASTIC BODY, WITH ONE PIECE ARMS & ONE PIECE LEGS—and SHE IS A WALKER DOLL! She is a “LITTLE LADY” with a LITTLE GIRL BODY. Her HANDS ARE BEAUTIFULLY SCULPTED with detailed dimples across the back of her hands, and finger joint & nail details—similar to the hands of 1952 HARD PLASTIC MADELAINE.
