1955 #471 Little Red Riding Hood. Alexanderkins 8 Wendy is a straight leg walker with sleep blue eyes and no lower painted lashes. Bright, original cheek color. Crisp, white, tagged taffeta dress trimmed with 3 rows of red rick rack at the hem and white rick rack at the neck. Bright red taffeta cape is sleeveless and buttons at the front. On her head she wears a matching red taffeta bonnet or Charlotte cap which ties at her neck. Lace-edged petticoat or slip, socks, red side-snap shoes with fuzzy soles. Condition issues : Leg stringing is very loose. Could come apart at any time and yet I was able to get her to stand on her own without a stand. Im not a great re-stringer and on a doll this nice i didnt want to manhandle her. Small brownish stain on hem of skirt. Alexander straw basket but from a later Red Riding Hood. Elastic on slip has been reinforced with elastic thread. Tiniest seam split at top of right leg and mold flaw on top of right arm. Hair in very good set with just a few small flyaways. G’day from Down Under….. Hope all my doll friends are keeping safe. I’m getting old (sigh) and it’s time to pass on the last 56 of my much loved alexanderkins. I know when I depart this mortal coil that none of my kids or grandkids would be interested in these dolls so they could end up in the trash!!! , so I’m hoping there will be a collector who will want and love them as much as I have. First on offer is this all original Little Southern Belle Type from 1955. I think she is stunning!!! She is featured on page 38 of Patricia Smiths MA book, and is a straight leg walker. Her dress has inset lace in the skirt, and also features a flower corsage at the waistline, and tiny rhinestones – two on corsage and one on front skirt. The pictures tell the story, but I will outline any details that the photos don’t show. Her straw hat is original, and is in very good condition, with a band of flowers featured on the brim, flowers that are repeated at the waistline. The tag on the dress doesn’t appear to have been washed, and both studs that close the bodice back are intact. Half slip elastic has relaxed and a previous owner used a pin to ensure that it stayed in place. Panties are in good condition, but shoes are a little worn. When I unpacked her (all dolls were boxed for a house move) I noticed that the band holding her arms in place was broken, so – with what I had – I did replace the rubber band but her arms are still loose, so I would expect the new owner might choose to replace it. I need to mention that there is a tiny spot of rust on the hem of the skirt which you can see in the pictures. I don’t do this unless the whole garment is affected, since I prefer my dolls to be as original as possible. Doll stand comes with the doll. Lots of hugs, Lorraine. 13 Betty Face Madame Alexander LITTLE COLONEL doll. A character role for Shirley Temple in the 30′s. For Shirley temple dolls. Composition, harder to find doll. Clothes are Factory head to toe. This doll has little to almost no crazing. Her mohair wig is lush and has pins in the curls. She has some normal joint rubs. But fingers and toes are complete, no splits or breaks. Her facial features are really nice. Her coloring is beautiful. Eyes are brown tin, so no clouding. She has been restrung. The soles of her shoes were redone with suede. Her dress is not mint, it does have that vintage look and feel but really nice. Her hat has a little bleed by the red bow and needs a couple stitches in a inner seam. Please look at all the pictures. This is a 1952 Little Women Amy Doll 15 Inch Margaret Face Hard Plastic Madame Alexander This beautiful 15 inch strung hard plastic Madame Alexander Little Women Amy doll is in excellent clean condition. Amy retains her gold Fashion Academy Award wrist tag. She has the Margaret face with perfect facial paint. Her sleep eyes open and close and her blonde hair is in the original elaborate set. The tagged Amy pink cotton dress with floral bodice is in crisp clean condition along with her white cotton petticoat and matching long pantaloons. Amy is also wearing her original white knit stockings and black side strap shoes with purplish bows on the toes. Beautiful, early, strung, 8. The doll is in excellent condition The outfit has been laundered (except hat), and may be a bit faded. The slip’s original elastic has been changed It has replaced shoes.
