50′s Vtg Madame Alexander 20 Cissy doll, entirely original outfit and doll. Sometimes called Black Widow, shes a Redhead. This was my childhood doll! Only one owner, and boxed in storage for the last 25 years at least. Right leg has a split above the knee. Left leg has an exceptionally small split at the knee. Her knees have a blush to them. Her eyes sleep and open, and are a vibrant blue. Her eyelashes are in good shape. Her panties have some holes along the creases of the fabric, and the lace is unattached in one area. I couldnt see any of the panty holes until I removed them from her body and examined them. The elastic is stretched out on the panties. The petticoat/pink can can slips elastic is worn out and stretched way too big. No holes in the petticoat. Theres a tiny mark on her right cheek, which you may be able to clean off. Likewise, I feel her hands should be washed. She has no earring holes. Her arms are a softer plastic than the rest of her. Her hairnet is still on, though it has a large hole. The hat has always been on her head, so her hair is in nice condition. The hat itself originally had a veil, which is largely disintegrated. The shoulder and hip joints look like they need cleaning. Her stockings look great except under the toe area. Only one shoe could be found, and her eyeglasses are broken. I have not removed the ring, which has a hanky attached. The dress has some fading and needs a wash. It has 5 square black snaps up the back, a jewel on the front between the breasts, and is made of silk? The skirt portion is in good shape other than some fading and needing a wash, but the bodice lining is shredded from age and is disintegrating. It should probably just be removed. The tag was mostly cut out, but is still partly visible. Some of the lace at the armholes has come unstitched. ALEXANDER is printed in raised plastic on the back of her head just under her hair, above her neck. She has a pearl necklace on, but I think that may belong with a smaller doll. This gorgeous Cissy has had a spa treatment to her face. Slight blush added and some matte finish applied. She has her original eyelashes and her eyes are a dark blue with just the beginnings of some green. The flash makes her eyes look more green than they really are. She has had her lips repainted a pretty red. She has a lovely Yardley style brunette wig. It is full and clean. It has nice curl in the back and is very easy to keep turned under, and looks nice loose as in the nude pictures or tied back with a ribbon, which is how she will come to you. She has normal wear to the neck area and inner thigh. She has nice arms that have no rips or tears. She is newly restrung to head and arms. She has had upper leg and lower outside knee repair and repaint on the left leg. Cissy’s chemise has been soaked clean. It has all snaps, though the top snap area is stretched. Her shoes are very nice Cissy mule shoes. The back elastic is stretched a bit, but they do stay on for a standing pose. Stand, chair and boa are props and are not included. Because there are so many people doing repairs on these lovely dolls and I have been asked many questions, I would like to clarify a bit of the work I do. I have had training in repairs and have been doing them for many years. My spa treatments are done with solvent based paints that are air brushed on, the same that are used on plastic bumpers on cars. The paint is UV protected and is permanent and will not rub off. The paint is also sealed with a UV protectant sealer. It also is permanent and will not yellow or wash off. I remove the eyes through the neck opening and replace them back the same way once eyelash and eye repair is finished. I do NOT split the head open, nor would I recommend it. I try to always think of the long term effects of my repairs and fixes. As for the clothing I make, I try to make them as close to an original design as possible. I also try to use vintage 50′s fabrics as often as I can. If I do not, I will always state so. I do not photoshop or alter my pictures in any way. Pictures are part of the description. Now here is a pretty ray of sunshine to brighten your heart! The outfit is clean and has never been displayed. It is made from a crisp seer sucker type checkered taffeta. Fabric is not vintage. It has been made in true Cissy style with a square neckline encircled with a silver ribbon, puffed sleeves which also sport the ribbon around the bottom of the sleeve, 2 hand sewn hem, tightly pleated waist on the skirt, and Tiffany set Swarovski crystals scattered on the bodice. Neckline and sleeves also have gathered vintage lace. Bodice is fully lined with white organdy. Back closes with 4 square snaps. The slip is heavy nylon with a row of gathered tulle on the inside and outside of the hem. The outside layer also sports a pretty row of lace. To accompany the outfit is a lucite purse with a corsage, a diamond ring, diamond earrings, a pair of original Cissy panties, a new pair of nylons, and a newer pair of pretty lavender shoes with roses. This lovely Cissy has no cracks, splits, odors, stains, chews, or repairs. She is newly restrung to her head and her arms. She has had lash fill in on her left eye. Her eyes are a lovely blue. They have been removed and reset. She has had airbrush blush added and a matte protective sealer to her face. Her beautiful blonde wig was removed and reglued. It was combed out to get her hairdo back in order, but it is in it’s original set and style. New tie backs on the sides and a new brass spanner bar. Arms are nice and legs and knees are tight. The skirt is a full 65 circle when laid out. There are 5 original black square snaps going down the back and the front is adorned with an original gold brooch. Under her dress she wears her original pink can can slip with pink rick rack trim. Also her original panties. Both slip and panties have been hand laundered and new elastic inserted at the waist. She wears her original nylons in very nice condition, silver diamond studded bracelet, and diamond ring. She has a replacement hang tag and a new lucite purse made in the original fashion with black velvet straps and flower adornment.
