G’day from Down Under….. Hope all my doll friends are keeping safe. I’m getting old (sigh) and it’s time to pass on the last 56 of my much loved alexanderkins. I know when I depart this mortal coil that none of my kids or grandkids would be interested in these dolls so they could end up in the trash!!! , so I’m hoping there will be a collector who will want and love them as much as I have. This girl is just lovely…… 1956 SLW wearing her blue formal gown, in blue striped taffeta with amazing sleeves, and featuring stylish layering and a huge bow and “train” in back. She is wearing black shoes, and unusual black straw hat trimmed with fruit and flowers. Black loop earrings studded with “diamonds” – but what really stands out with this doll is the incredible and unique hair-do. It’s a special hairdo that is up-swept with curls on each side of her face and forehead. Check out her hairstyle from the back….. Every hair in place. Particularly, this girls hairdo is in original and beautiful condition. Doll stand comes with the doll. Lots of hugs, Lorraine. She is breathtaking in detail, from gorgeous hair in an up-do, with loose strands, white taffeta evening dress trimmed in brown roses and bows. Gorgeous sheer matching wrap embroidered and trimmed in real mink! Brown full length gloves, striking headpiece in brown taffeta, satin, beads, and sequins, with feathers extending out of the top. Check out her diamond and emerald like necklace, earrings, and bracelet. Nylons, brown petticoat underneath evening dress. Brown shoes with a diamond like on the strap – excellent touch. R 1948 Near Mint Madame Alexander Nina Ballerina. In Rare Tagged Yellow Tutu. This exquisite beautiful ballerina is one of the gems in my collection and is in near mint condition. She has her original stringing, which is still at exactly the right tension. Starting with her head, Nina has the lightest blond flaxen hair with her hair upswept into a top chignon with her headdress of yellow flowers and one cabbage rose. She should have two more. Her bangs could use a wee bit of curl – an easy fix. Ninas face is beyond exquisite and one of the best Ninas I have ever seen. Lovely matte peaches and cream complexion, high colour rouge, beautiful red lips and the bluest of eyes. Ninas rare yellow tutu is crisp with no wilting. Nina comes with pale pink ballet tights/stockings. Again rare for this line of Ninas. There is the tiniest of holes on her camera right leg. Her pink ballet slippers do show some age wear which is to be expected. Nina is an ex Lia Sargent Doll, though the paper work has been lost to time. No need to be concerned about packing. I use plenty of bubble wrap and packing peanuts or appropriate substitute. Make sure to look at all the pictures, THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. Her original tulle shawl has two small holes amid all the folds behind the original silver star pin, and this obviously! Is an “invisible” flaw! Cissy wears the original red taffeta slip, and underneath her original hosiery & silver sandals. This Cissy did NOT originally wear a bracelet, but I added this vintage pearl bracelet to compliment her original choker and earrings. It seems some LIRs had a clear rhinestone ring, others a red one… This ring is clear, but I have the vintage red rhinestone ring should you prefer it. Cissy has gorgeous features & all original coloring. Her dark blonde wig is perfection, thick with stacks of curls unique to this wig. She had a very small, narrow separation at the top of her right hip, inside her body cavity, which has been professionally repaired. Also, which is ironically further proof your LIR is original! If you’ve been dreaming of that elusive, blonde bombshell of a Cissy, this is it! Just in time for Valentine’s Day? Her lustrous blonde hair is that hard to find side part wig that was only made for one year -1957- as she was once a queen! She much prefers the quiet life these days, lounging in her boudoir reading romance novels. Her hair is amazingly shiny clean, refreshed by me, with tumbles of curls with ties and original spanner bar. Her truest blue eyes, with perfect original lashes, are probably the bluest I’ve seen yet. Her creamy, infused complexion, with high color original blush, eye shadow, and glossy red lips are a sight to behold!! Her exquisite beauty is further accentuated with triple crystal drop earrings and a little engagement solitaire ring I made just for her! She’s keeps herself fit – stringing is perfect for posing beautifully in any outfit you desire. She can even stand by herself if you balance her just right! No splits or cracks that I can see! Her arm and body color still match beautifully, so she can wear those revealing outfits without a problem. She retains her original have and knee blush as well. She’ll come to you in her favorite black lace teddy, vintage seamed stockings, and vintage ruffly black high heeled sandals. Oh, and let’s not forget her flirty little boa & bling!! The only imperfection I can find is that she has a very slight indent on her upper back, which you might be able to see in the tenth photo if you really search, but it’s extremely minor. I’m picking nits here. I believe it was in the manufacturing, and is hardly noticeable. She’s just a beautiful, hard to find doll! My dolls are vintage and therefore not perfect and they may show signs of age. All Cissy’s Secret items are from a non smoking, spotless studio. Props are not included.
