Cissy is Dressed for a Spring Fashion Parade. Wearing a beautiful fashion of flocked dotted organdy is vintage Madame Alexander Cissy, who originally wore the 1955 blue slipper satin evening gown with silver braid trim. Her hairstyle is unique to that doll which helps to identify her. Cissy that is rare to find for that reason. Here she is dressed in an outstanding creation by the Primrose Doll Shop. Frothy, light, and delicate describes this dress perfectly. She also wears a strand of pearls around her neck, slip, panties, and stockings with coordinating pink strappy high heels. Cissy carries her lucite purse and pink wrist gloves. In her hair in a charming bouquet of cabbage roses. Cissy is in clean excellent condition but her lower legs have some loss of color in spots which does not show easily through her stockings. Cissy’s eyes are a lovely hazel color, lashes are all there and just a bit thin on her left eye. Hair is in the original set. Face has been professionally refreshed and sealed. This beautiful doll is clean and bright, ready for your collection. This vintage Elise has a full-length gown of pale yellow organdy. With white flocked flowers and lace trim. Original bouquet is attached at the waist. Highlighted by original yellow satin ribbon tied in the back. Her original hat has matching flowers and a black velvet ribbon trim. The tagged petticoat is pale yellow organdy with new elastic waist. Panties are original yellow taffeta with new elastic. Nylon stockings are original. Her shoes are original pale yellow satin with replaced white heels. Note: Shoes seem somewhat large for Elise but they came with her outfit. Original blond shoulder length wig is in the original set. The doll is in excellent condition no splits or cracks. She has high color and a beautiful blonde wig in the short chignon with two bangs style. The original spanner bar is still present. This is a 1956 Cissy, I believe. She has a painted face, not infused. Her coloring is bright and she has perfect clear blue eyes with white eye whites. She may have been reblushed. I think this is possible because her one small hip crack has been professionally mended (see photograph). Her blonde updo hair is in its original set. She has an unusually sensitive Cissy face. I like the delicacy of her coloring. The dress is very full and perky and is supported by a matching yellow crinoline. She has matching taffeta panties and is wearing vintage hose and replacement white Cissy style sandal heels. Her stringing is good and she poses well for the most part, though she can be stubborn about holding her head to the side. I could get her to do it for her photos. All in all, she is a lovely doll. 1958 Cissy Doll Pink Swiss Dot Shirtwaist Dress Val Lace Flocked Slip Madame Alexander. Okay, I would love to tell you about this absolute beauty. The band in her head connecting her to her body has weakened from age so her head is detached. Her hair appears to be in very original condition but is also detached which is perfect for washing her hair before attaching to head. Nothing stands out to my sniffer, but I’m sure there are reasonable age/storage smells. Her hat is stunning but needs a little coaxing simply from storage. It is in beautiful condition and a confection of Italian straw, tulle and flowers. I removed her dress which is pink swiss dot, semi-sheer with lovely rows of Val lace and rhinestone buttons and earrings. There is some patina to the metal of rhinestones. Her slip is stunning and flocked with an elaborate design that you can see through the dress in a peak a boo fashion. Her body appears to be darn near perfect. Honestly, nothing for me to say but it looks great! Her eyes open and close as they should and appear bright and beautiful! Her stockings are good. Her panties are good. Slip is in great condition. The dress pulled apart in the fold of hem (about 6 inches) which I’ve seen before (a professional seamstress used fusible web and did an amazing job) – web is less than 1/4 width, there is a tear in the hem underneath of hem which has been left as is and really doesn’t pose a problem because the edges are apart of the hem which is stitched down as it was originally. Dress may have slight age discoloration but nothing stands out. I know lace can yellow with age and as I have nothing to compare it to, I can only assume this has happened. Her face is stunning. I see an itty bitty dot which I know will come out with Dawn or something similar but I’m not going to attempt this, it’s not my field. Anything else I believe is glue related to her hair and will be covered by her hair yet again when reattached. I apologize but I don’t know the exact number of this doll/dress. However, after staring at Cissy’s face and her beautiful clothing, I certainly understand the fascination and love for these beauties. I read the following online.
