This is #64260 Petticoat Picnic. This is a limited series numbered 16/400. Never played with, the doll comes with the original box as seen in photos. The doll is approximately 8, comes with all the original paperwork. This is part of a large collection of dolls from a recent estate find. The dolls were kept in a non smoking home with great care. This is our special 1953 Madame Alexander-kin Wendy Kin Heavy Strung Doll that wears the rare and stunning Tagged County Picnic Outfit. She is the heavier weight doll with the face that is more full around the cheeks. She is marked ALEX on her back and has pretty triple-stitched blonde hair with lots of curls. We prefer not to undress her and have removed her from a personal storage case where we have kept her with notes. She is strung and can stand well with her arms loose. Her body, arms and legs have some marks and discoloration on them. She has a really pretty face with blue eyes that open and close nicely and lightly blushed cheeks. She is wearing a tagged County Picnic outfit that includes the beautiful pink check long gown that has satin straps and the off white jacket that goes over it and ties with ribbon through two white painted metal grommets on the front. The dress is in nice, clean condition, closing with square snaps. There is only one dot mark on the inside skirt near lower hem. There is a little wrinkling on back side of gown because of keeping her stored flat. The jacket has some light brown discoloration to it and there are some scratches on the white paint of the grommets. Her straw hat is in very nice condition with pretty flowers on it (chin strap was replaced). Her organdy slip and pantalettes are original to the outfit and are in nice condition but have a lot of discoloration at the waistlines and have been stitched to keep them up at some point (photos 9+10). She wears the earlier fuzzy black side snap shoes with fuzzy bottoms and more current white socks. Shoes are in good condition with wear on bottoms. She is really a very special Kin that has been cherished. A rare hard plastic walker doll in a harder to find tagged blue color gown rather than the more common pink gown. Even triple if mint condition. Margaret face hard plastic that has no unwanted odors. Blue sleep eyes that have a hint of brown on one side of each eye ball, has all her lashes. There is a faded rub at the bridge of the nose, cheeks are rosy and lips are red, all with no rubs. Auburn red hair that looks to be in the original set. Front of hair can be picked back to life as it was pushed back by someone sticking a hair pin there, perhaps to hold down the hat. Madame Alexander New York hat box with good elastic and 2 hair curlers inside. Tagged gown has a faded gold spot, a bit bigger than a pin head size, on right side, as pictured. Violet color sash has a few small faded spots in back that are hardly noticeable, as pictured. Hoop half slip has a snap at waist, hoop is bent, though can be gently put back to shape with time. Slip has no stains or holes. Cotton, lace trimmed underwear with snap at waist, nylon stockings and black, velvet textured center snap shoes. All in good condition. Straw hat could use a little work as the crown is mostly separated from the rim and a few small triangle cuts on the back edge rim. Sits on top of the head without showing the split. Still retains the original flower appliques and netted ties. Sewn in tag reads “Madame Alexander”. Okay guys Ive been putting this off too long now, reason being I dont know much about the beautiful doll except what I have researched. The doll in the photos are the doll you will receive. Ive never had a 1953 Doll look this good. Sleepy eyes open and close. She can actually stand on her on. She walks with ease and head turns as she moves her legs. Her hair is Reddish brown. Face paint is beautiful. Wig is is great condition. Her outfit is original and in great condition. The white undergarments could use a wash. But have probably never been removed. Hat is original and in good condition with a little fraying around the edges. I dont think these are original shoes but are madame Alexander. Missing the hat box. The major flaw are the wig glue one both sides of her face where the wig has came a little loose? Just dried glue I think could probably be remove if you know how. This beautiful 8″ doll is “GLAMOUR GIRL PICNIC DAY #64085, made exclusively for the 2011 Madame Alexander Doll Club Convention in Atlanta, GA. She was the souvenir doll for the “20+ Event”, only available to those who had been MADC members for 20 or more years. She wears a lovely pink floral print dress with ruffled hem, white ruffled tulle slip, white tights and brown & white shoes. She also has her natural straw hat trimmed with flowers. The hat is still sealed in the little plastic bag attached to her box. It feels like there is possibly something else in the bag under the hat ribbons, but I cannot tell and don’t want to open it since it’s still factory sealed. Lovely doll with brown eyes, rosey cheeks and dark red (auburn) curly hair. She is also a Total Moves Wendy with jointed elbows & knees and a swivel waist for greater poseability.
