This is the 20-21 Cissy by Madame Alexander. I know of no bodily damage to her. Please refer to my pics and feel free to ask questions. Her dress has a belt that has been added. She has wonderful little accessories and I have also added a necklace that I just love on her. You can be so proud to own this doll with clean and styled wig and perfectly complemented with color in her choice of outfit. The hat and purse are by Richard’s Originals. Looks like her blush has been refreshed and a sealer added to her face. She also has all new eyelashes. She has vintage nylons, jewelry, a vintage ring, black gloves and her heels were switched out by me for these Madame Alexander heels with rose flower. Her stringing is all good with easy movement. She is ready to be queen of your collection. This Cissy was dressed and beautified by Karyn Shaffner. I LOVE all my Cissy dolls by Karyn, they are real prize additions to my Cissy Collection. This Cissy doll by Madame Alexander has been with me for more than 12 years now. She has been displayed in different outfits during that time, but the ensemble she is listed in is the one she has been wearing for a while now and was intended to be her forever outfit. The aqua taffeta dress from 1957 is tagged and has the longer waltz-length skirt that stands out so beautifully. The taffeta is very crisp. This dress would have been worn under a black velveteen bolero in the past, which caused some wrinkling of the cap sleeves and the tag to not lay flat. Not sure I ever had the bolero. The dress closes in the back with four square snaps, which are all working and secure. The vintage corsage made from Alexander-type flowers was added by me. Even has the wrapped stems like a real ladies corsage from the 50s era. It is tacked on and can be removed, but I don’t know why you’d want to. Tacking is not my forte, but it has been secure for display. There are no spots, stains, holes, open seams or other problems with the dress. The taffeta has such a beautiful sheen, as you can see in the photos. Underneath the dress, Cissy wears a pretty white taffeta can-can slip trimmed with tulle and rick rack (not a Cissy item, but better), white taffeta lace-trimmed Cissy panties with good original elastic, and Cissy seamed stockings with no holes or runs. Her shoes are awesome Premier high heels with gold elastic and pearlized bases with heels that are encrusted with tiny rhinestones in various colors. So perfect for this dress. These shoes had not been used before dressing Cissy in this costume. Her frilly tulle hat with excellent flowers is original to a different Cissy outfit (#2146 from 1957), but ties in so well with the dress corsage. It does not have a chin strap, but rather a hatpin to use. I never used the pin. Just placed the hat on Cissy’s head once she was situated for display. Cissy’s accessories include a three-strand pearl necklace with spring clasp, “diamond” stud earrings holding pearl drops, vintage white nylon gloves, stretchy pearl bracelet, blue stone ring (not a Cissy item), and a gold metal purse with chain handle. This charming little purse is weighty, but Cissy’s arm has no problem supporting. The purse doesn’t snap shut at the top, but has a spring hinge at the bottom which closes it. A really pretty and unusual item. Although Cissy is an exquisite display, she has some flaws that need to be noted. She was sent for a spa treatment not long after I got her. Her blushing was refreshed and hair redone. Can’t recall if anything else was done. I believe her brush eyelashes are the original ones. What was not repaired (and I suppose it was not requested) were the two splits at the tops of her legs where they go into the body cavity. The one on the left leg is not visible on the outside; the one on the right leg is visible about 1/4 inch outside the body cavity. The other thing which cannot be repaired is a “nip” out of her lower left arm where it joins the upper portion. If her arm is bent at the elbow, it shows (but it is in the back so not seen from the front). If you push the lower part back up under the upper, it closes and is not seen. The last two photos show the nip if the elbow is bent and not seen when the arm is straightened and pushed up with a slight twist. You can also see it is not visible in the back view photo. I can say that during the many years I’ve owned her, these issues have not changed. But if any of this bothers you, this Cissy is not for you. Her hairdo has stayed very nice, but the curls drawn back at the nape of the neck have developed a little frizz. Nothing distracting, in my opinion. Due to the limited number of pictures that can be posted, I did not include those of the splits/cracks, but they are available upon request. If you are seriously considering her, I would want you to be able to see those. I could have changed out her arms at any time, but elected to not do so since the skin tone of her original body parts matched well. I did undress Cissy to let you view her blushing and skin color. Doubt that I will undress any doll in the future. Have to be so careful. And getting those gloves off and back on was a painstaking process. I need to add that her stringing is good. Her eyes seem more blue in person, but the camera sees green, also. Cissy will be available for 30 days, but will not be relisted after that time. Although needing to downsize, keeping her would not break my heart. I have many different pictures that can be supplied. Have some good close-ups of the hat you might want to see. Here is an early painted Madame Alexander Cissy doll dressed in a very striking display outfit. Cissy is 20 inches tall and has joints at the head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. She is all hard plastic except for her vinyl arms. She is in good vintage condition with joints working well. She has small splits at the top of each leg where it goes into the torso. I have pictured one of the splits, but ran out of photo room to post a picture of the other. It is approximately the same size, but a picture can be furnished upon request. Cissy has blue-green sleep eyes and all of her brush and painted lashes. Eyes open and close well. Her original cheek color has faded. Her head will bob a little when moved around, but seems stable enough to me. She probably has her original headband. Her dark blonde wig is still in the factory set/style, but has a little weakness in the center seam. Back when I first got her, I started to gently comb through the wig and immediately pulled out a strand of hair. I pinned it back with a hairpin and never attempted anything else with it. The curls are nice, though. Cissy’s dress is custom made and with very nice detail. The fabric is a 1950s fabric that is identical to the fabric that was used in the dresses for the Maggie dolls. Those were pink and blue, and this is a silvery-gray. The pattern is raised when brand new and unwashed. I have shown a picture of this fabric and the pink fabric for verification. The dress is constructed with a lace-trimmed sweetheart neckline and banded puff sleeves. Three pearls decorate the fitted bodice. A red grosgrain ribbon is looped through two small mother-of-pearl buckles and ties in a bow in the back. The gathered skirt is full and flirty. Such an awesome little dress. Underneath is a vintage white taffeta slip with net ruffles trimmed in red rickrack on the outside and inside. Good elastic in the waist. She wears white taffeta Cissy panties and seamed stockings, which, I believe, are original. The panties may have some light spots on them. I will check in the morning when there is better light to make sure. Her shoes are red Cissy bases that have new elastic to go with the rest of her outfit. Her hat is an original Cissy hat that has had the damaged white horsehair braid removed. The brim is wired and can be shaped. The lily-of-the-valley flowers are in great shape, and I added a little vintage sprig to cover the stems. It is just stuck in there and can be easily removed if desired. There is a gold headband with good stretch that is inside the crown of the hat. Accessories include a vintage red and white plastic tote, pearl necklace with box clasp, vintage watch with red band and a newer pearl ring. The doll is a pretty display doll as she is. The addition of some cheek color would really enhance her. Cissy comes from a smoke-free home and is being offered to USA BUYERS LOWER 48 ONLY. 20 Cissy Doll 1958 (Doll Only). I found her wearing her Flowery painted gown and hat (they are in separate listings). She can be seen on page 137 in “Cissy Reference Rarities Restoration” and page 39 of “The Cissy Files” by Kiley Ruwe Shaw. She is in non play, lovely condition. The only flaw is a separation on outside left knee. She has been restrung with new bands, otherwise all original gorgeous face, eyes and wig. Very clean and no odors. For your consideration is this amazing Alexander Cissy doll from 1956. She is known as the Pink Ballerina Dress and The dress is basically made out of lace and pink tulle. The dress does have all the flowers and I do not see any holes in the tulle. There is some fading in the dress-it is very hard to capture in the pictures. She really is simply breathtaking! This doll is not for the mint collector. The elastic in her panties is stretched and She comes with her nylons and shoes that I did replace the silver elastic. She has gorgeous hair and good color. She does have a split by her left knee and one on each side of her hip-you can not see those when shes standing and it does not Affect her posing. I didnt know that it was there until I really did the super in detail look. She has glued on crystal earrings to give her a little extra sparkle. She is missing some flowers in her hair but those can be easily replaced. She comes from a smoke free home and has no odors! She is ready to be your Valentine! Get something you want for Valentines Day!!! She is super sweet and wants to be your special doll! For your consideration is this amazing Alexander Cissy doll from 1958. She is known as the LADY IN RED and shes wearing a red taffeta ball gown with a tulle wrap dotted with fine glitter. This is a hard to find Doll in this condition. This beautiful girl is ready for the Christmas ball! She really is simply breathtaking! Nowshe does have some imperfections As her gown does have a few spots on it and in one small section there is water stain on her hem. She has had her hair completely restored and it looks glorious! I believe these are her original pearl earrings but she does have replaced pearl necklace and replaced Crystal Snowflake pin. Her slip does have stretched elastic at the waist. Her face is beautiful with very strong eyebrows. Her gown has all of its beautiful square snaps in place. She also has her rhinestone ring and comes with a red Christmas box to hang from her wrist. Her eyes are beautiful blue and she has all of her lashes. Still has no cracks or splits and has gorgeous coloring. Shes ready to put under your Christmas tree!
