See my other auctions for more great historic items! Madame Alexander Doll “Alexanderkin” 1953 SLNW Hard Plastic RARE 1 Year Doll. Note: Doll Stand Not Included. Adorable 8 Madame Alexander (SLNW) Straight Leg Non Walker Alexanderkin doll. Made for one year only in 1953. Marked “ALEX”, she has a gorgeous SHINY MINTY blonde wig with bangs & curls, molded lashes, excellent color, no cracks nor chips, is firmly strung, with very reactive dark blue sleep eyes that flutter so charmingly when held. The overall doll body is really Minty. She was found in this floral pink & pastel grey dress with lace & pink flowers that match the flowers on her straw hat with pink ribbon. Its taffeta petticoat is lace-trimmed as are the panties. There is no tag, as the area where it should have been attached now holds a replaced snap. Period vintage outfit includes a blue vinyl purse, white socks & pink snap-over shoes… All of the correct style & time period. Of course without the tag, we can’t guarantee that the dress is original to this doll, but it has been suggested that it may be a Nancy Ann Muffie dress. This was a short-run model, as only 1 year of production was afforded the non-walkers. Therefore they are quite rare & very desirable in this fine condition. No odors – smoke free! You will not be disappointed, as many of these dolls are beautiful collectible treasures! BEAUTIFUL 1953-54 Madame Alexander-kins straight-leg non-walker with dark blonde, tightly rolled triple-stitched wig, blue oval sleep-eyes that open and close easily, molded-lashes eyes with lower painted lashes and rosy cheeks. She has one small dent on her left temple that may have happened during production, but certainly doesn’t detract from her lovely appearance. She is wearing a tagged, crisp, black and red floral-print variation of the “Pinafore Dress” with a red taffeta under-dress and matching lace-trimmed panties, white socks and black side-snap fuzzy shoes with fuzzy bottoms. The pinafore criss-crosses in the back and ties with a bow. There are examples on pg. 21 (1953) and pg. 48 (1955) of The World of Alexander-kins by Patricia Smith. On her head is a beautiful vintage black straw hat with black ribbon trim and red flowers, that seems a perfect compliment to her outfit, but may or may not be original to her outfit. Simply lovely and an exceptional example of a vintage Madame Alexander-kins doll that would make a wonderful addition to your collection! No odors, smoke free environment. This gorgeous Madame Alexander 8 doll is Wendy wearing a School Outfit. She is a hard-plastic straight leg non-walker doll from 1953, the first year these little dolls were made. Her dress is the brightest pink and has matching panties. Her black shoes are top-stitched and have fuzzy bottoms. What a beautiful, beautiful doll!
