Madame Alexander Dolls

Featured here is an exquisite Madame Alexander 1949 Lucy Bride Doll in her original ivory satin gown, with long tapering sleeves and a drop waist, and rhinestone bodice. IT has a lovely square neck edged in lace, with slightly puffed sleeves at the shoulders. It snaps down the back and is TAGGED with the fabric Madame Alexander Doll Co. She has her original tiny white bead necklace, her original ivory satin snap shoes, back seamed hose, and lace trimmed satin panties. Her gown has an underskirt or slip sewn to it at the drop waist for fullness. NOTE: This doll is missing her original veil, but I have put vintage fabric flowers at her temples in the same place and style as the original doll’s head decor. She also carries an added vintage satin hand basket with satin ribbon handles and trailing fabric flowers and satin ribbons. It can be carried nicely in either hand or over her wrist. This doll has the suntan body of the early Madame Alexander Margaret dolls; she has her dark brunette hair done up in its original set, pulled back in tight curls behind her ears and along the back of her neck. She has wonderful open and close eyes, painted eye brows, all her eye lashes, full painted lips and rosy cheeks. The “Margaret” faced dolls are some of the most beautiful made by Madame Alexander, in my opinion. This doll has flat feet, not “high heel feet” and poses nicely in a doll stand. A doll stand will be included so that she is ready for display. This doll has been kept in a darkened doll room in my SMOKE FREE and PET FREE home, in a doll cabinet. She shows no sign of any sun fading. I take great care to wrap my dolls so that they do not move around in transit. She will be insured and come with signature confirmation to ensure you receive her safely. Offered here is a beautiful vintage 1940s Madame Alexander Margaret doll with the suntan body and complexion and her original blonde mohair wig with bangs and curls, and the original hair barrettes and large pink satin bow pinned in her hair. She stands 14 inches tall. She has her original cotton slip trimmed in vintage lace with attached panties, with pink bows and lace t. He leg elastic has stretched from age. This doll’s hair is a wonderful sunshine yellow blonde, with tiny curls across the back and framing her face. She has wavy blonde bangs and her original gold barrettes on both sides of her head at her temples. NOTE: A friend who is a doll expert told me that she believes this is the Princess Margaret doll made in 1948 or 1949, a little blonde with suntan body dressed in her original pink dress and slip and panties and shoes, only missing her apron from the original outfit. She is dressed in her original vintage very soft pink taffeta dress, with puffed sleeves trimmed in lace, a circular boat collar also edged in vintage ivory lace, and a pink satin ribbon tie around her waist. This vintage dress has a vintage soft white cotton slip and matching attached panties or bloomers, also edged in vintage lace. The panties have tiny pink bows sewn on them that match the pink ribbons in her mohair wig. She has her original black patent looking ankle strap shoes with their original tiny black bows on the toes and rayon anklet socks. She has a lovely vintage Madame Alexander pink sequin purse on a gold chain over her left arm; this little purse opens. On her left wrist there are a couple tiny lines in her doll finish, perhaps from where the purse chain rubbed. It is very minor but I did want to mention it. She has the gorgeous SUNTAN body finish and very rosy cheeks and rosebud red lips, wonderful blue green eyes and all her dark, full lashes, and painted light brown brows. NOTE: A previous owner has hand sewn the name’Mary Elaine’ on the little slip in blue embroidery thread. It can be turned to the back or left in the front. It is most likely the child’s name who owned this doll originally. This sweet little doll is all dressed up and ready for a wedding, for Church or for a special birthday party or afternoon tea! This doll has no “old doll” offensive odor and shows no sign of any sun fading. She has been kept in a display cabinet in a darkened doll room in my SMOKE FREE and PET FREE home. I take great care to wrap my dolls so that they do not move around in their boxes in transit.
