Vintage Madame Alexander 8 Country Picnic of 1953 boxed

This is outfit #376 of 1953 and one of the first 8 Wendys. She can be seen in Pat Smith’s World of Alexander-kins on Page 14. This Wendy is a SL- straight leg non walker. Her back is marked Alex. It is hard to believe she is 63 years old, and she is so precious. She is a blonde and her wig is triple-stitched. Her facial color is very nice and her sleep eyes work well. Wendy is wearing white organdy pantaloons, a half slip with lace at the bottom hem, white socks and white side-snap shoes. Her pink and white check cotton dress has small white rick-rack trim and it is very full. It has whit satin ribbon straps over the shoulders. She is wearing a white cotton pique jacket which has a flared peplum, cotton lace trim, and ties in front with white satin ribbon. There is a slight stain on the left side of the skirt which may come out. It hasn’t been laundered. I have shown it in the pictures. It isn’t too noticeable because of the fullness of the skirt. The hat is not original, but it is cuter than the original – at least I think so. It has a chin strap. I have included a picture of the original. Other than the stain on the skirt, I see nothing wrong – no rips, tears, holes, etc. She is in an Alexander box but it is not her original. Smoke and pet-free home.
