The scene is Merton Place in England, lbs I where Lady Emma Hamilton resided with her husband, Sir William Hamilton, and her lover, Lord Horatio Nelson, to whom she bore a daughter, Horatia. Hamilton was 57 years her senior at the time of their marriage. Prior to her marriage to Sir Hamilton, she worked as a maid in her very early years, then her beauty and popularity propelled her to become a portrait model for painter George Romney. Vivian Leigh played the colorful character of Lady Hamilton in the 1941 film, That Hamilton Woman. Twist-waist Wendy Ann is plays Lady Hamilton in this listing. She is made of composition and was produced between 1940-45. Her eyes of brown have darkened over time, but her coloring is very good and her composition is in very good condition as well. Her costume is from an HP Lady Hamilton doll #1338, made for Madame’s Portraits of History Series. Everything worn by the the older doll, including her slipper satin shoes, are original to the Later HP doll. Her gown is of an ivory nylon, with a moss green velveteen overlay and a lace collar. Her wavy light auburn hair is a replacement wig, fitting of her character. She wears pantaloons, edged in Val lace, and nylons with her satin shoes. Two photos of Lady Hamilton in paintings are included in the listing photos. The second one is by painter George Romney. I used this doll for the lovely costume because it fits her perfectly and the ensemble is as beautiful as the older MA doll costumes. I love the Wendy Ann swivel-waist design with the versatility it allows in posing her. She has an extended arm and one slightly-bent knee, which adds to her grace. I also prefer Madame’s composition dolls to her HP dolls used in these series, but love and appreciate the continued beauty of the costumes presented on them. The last photo in the listing shows all 4 dolls. The AI-generated main photo does not change the characteristics of the doll. I have provided the original photo for comparison.

This is one of the heavier 1953 Madame Alexander Kin Wendy Strung Dolls wearing a pretty pink Kin tagged dress. She is marked ALEX on her back. Her eyes are a bluish-grey color and open and close, sometimes needing a nudge. She has pale cheek color and has a little lip color missing. There is glue residue showing on her hair. Her body, arms and legs are in good condition with some marks or rubs on them, but please see her body side photos. The right side seam is not aligned perfectly but believe that the left side is ok. Her legs are the heavy solid ones that came on the 1953 Kins. She can stand well and can pose her arms fairly well. Her pink Kin dress is tagged and has pretty decorative ribbons across the front and hem area. It closes in the back with two sets of signature square snaps. It fits her really well and looks really eye catching on her. The white slip is more current and adds fullness to the dress when displayed. Her added underpants are in good, clean condition and fit her well. Her black fuzzy side-snap smooth bottom shoes are in fair condition with most of the flocking rubbed off. Her pink socks are also good with some darkening from shelf wear. A really adorable Kin.
