Pictured is a 7 1/2 Early Madame Alexander-kins Doll From 1953. She has the heavier body, her back is marked ALEX. She is a strung doll not a walker. She holds a pose quite well as you can see. There is a short seam separation on her neck, it does not detract from her beauty, please refer to the picture. She has red hair in the original curled, crunchy set, blue sleep eyes with molded and painted lower lashes, painted brows, a beautiful flawless complexion with very rosy cheeks & red lips. She is wearing her tagged, black flowered pinafore & pink cotton dress. She has her white petticoat & panties with matching lace trim, white socks & black velvet side snap shoes. It is in very nice condition. There are no holes that I could find. The skirt is very nice. The bodice has some staining at the shoulder area – mostly on the back. The organdy sleeves are good, but perhaps not as white as they could be. The elastic is still good enough to fit her arms snuggly. The flowers are still intact at the shoulder – maybe a little droopy. Pretty velvet ribbon sash is very nice. These are vintage items – over 60 years old. This is a beautiful Cissy wearing the yellow floral taffeta dress. She is not without problems. Her body has red stains on her leg and panties and petticoat slip. Her dress displays beautiful but did have substantial moth damage in the front. I have repaired it to the best of my abilities and it is not very noticeable at all, look at pictures closely. Her sandals have been replaced because elastic on her original set have stretched with age. Her jewelry is all original along with the cameo on her bodice. All in all she displays beautifully and would be a wonderful addition to your collection. Madame Alexander’s “Cissy” in tagged floral tulle gown. I believe this to be #2282 from 1958. Her dress, gloves, hat and jewelry is all original. Her hair is untouched and has the space bar. She is a gorgeous example, Ive owned her for about 20 years and shes been in a glass case on display the whole time (no sunlight, no pets, no smoking). I have enjoyed her, but its time to downsize. She does have some flaws, which are detailed below. Dress has large tear in the front and small tear on the left side. It looks like all pieces are there so this could be repaired by a skilled person. You cannot see the tears when shes on display, theres so much tulle the tears disappear. While there are no smells, her underskirts have browned with age. The flowers on her hat have some browning as well. I believe her tag, shoes and pantyhose are a very good replacement, just too new looking to be original. A little green stain on her ring finger from the metal of the ring. Arms have flecks of paint from the dress and some discoloration. Small discoloration on forehead. Her eyes are crystal clear and open and close smoothly.
