Vintage 1930s 18 Composition Madame Alexander Wendy Ann Doll Auburn Mohair Blue Eyes. Condition – she is missing one set of eyelashes on her left eye. All fingers and toes are present. Fine crazing but no splits. One ankle has something on it. I was able to gently flake some of that off so it could probably be removed by a skilled individual. I didn’t want to chance damaging her. Her limbs are still fairly snug to her body but not extremely tight. As you can see her standing up in the photo. Size – see item specifics. Vintage Madame Alexander – Kins “Juliet” #473 1955 inspired by United Artists production of “Romeo and Juliet” But soft, what light through yonder windows breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the Sun… ” Juliet is dressed in a full reproduction costume inspired by the United Artists production of “Romeo and Juliet (1954-55). She is an 8in hard plastic, fully jointed straight leg walker with blue sleep eyes, a vibrantly colored face. Blonde hair with shaped curls at the nape of her neck that have been set in the now famous “Juliet” special hairdo from the 1955 film wearing a gold trimmed tiara. She is wearing an ivory satin brocade gown and overdress with garnet rose velvet accents and gold/silver metallic trim, small clear plastic flowerets around the shoulder and white panties underneath with metallic gold trimmed, tied slippers. She is in near mint condition and can be found on page 37 of Patricia R. Smith’s ” The World of Alexander-Kins”(sans crown) and on page 89 of Jane Ruggles Thomas’ The Most Beautiful Dolls… Little Dolls, Vol 1 (with crown). For your consideration a Madame Alexander 1955 #473. Juliet is made of Hard Plastic and is a Straight Leg Walker. Walker functions as it should. She wears a ivory/off white brocade gown and an overdress. I remove the dress to ensure that it was in a perfect condition. I found no tears, stains, or discolorations. It has not been laundered and all the trimmings as in excellent condition. She wears gold slippers which with ties and fuzzy soles. She wears her hair in the now famous “Juliet” style. The doll measures approximately 8 tall. The doll retains her original United Artists hang tag. The doll looks to have been played with very little. The face paint is lovely, and the outfit is great. The outfit has several small stains, the one on the back is from being in contact with a doll stand for many years. The walker mechanism works well.
