Marked’ Princess Elizabeth Alexander Doll’ on back of head. There are a few fine craze lines, but generally, the composition is in excellent condition. Limbs freely move and she can stand on her own. Her eyes appear to be golden brown with a ring of blue around them. The other dress is a blue Velvet untagged dress. Included are two bonnets and muff. The straw bonnet is falling apart at center fold. Flora McFlimsey is based on the character Miss Flora McFlimsey of Madison Square, from William Allen Butler’s famous satirical poem; Nothing to Wear published in 1857.

She wears her close to factory fresh tagged McFlimsey dress. She still wears her hair net; her hair is almost as lovely as the day she was made. Her bonnet may show some wear and the elastic has been replaced. — —-She is a beauty from the original owner’s showcase. This doll was kept in the family of a vast doll collection from the 1930s through 1970s. She is free of odors or major issues; however, both of her eyes show age and are now clouded. Her freckles and long intact molded eyelashes really highlight her pretty face. On both sides of her eyes you will see the beginning of a crack fprming; it really is not noticeable on display until you magnify the photos. You may see a minor amount of crazing on her face and around her left knee. — She was created with real longevity and craftsmanship in mind. Please look at the photos for further visual details on her condition. Her head is well connected and will not droop as she pises. Her arms and legs will not hold a pose. She could someday need restringing. Her eyes are easy open and close. The outfit and socks are vintage replacement and very pretty for display. The pinafor fabric is extremely fragile, but it is free of rips or snags. It is free of stains or blemishes. The only obvoius wear on the pinafore or dress is some light fraying on the back ties to her sash, but it is very clean and odor free with displayable condition. Here is a harder to find 1950s Madame Alexander Flora McFlimsey. She is 14 and all original with her tag and curler box still attached to her wrist. She is in excellent condition with good color. The only thing that keeps me from calling her mint is a couple of dots in the vinyl under her lip. The clothing is crisp and clean. I just bought a collection of these 1950s dolls from the original owner. They are all in excellent, unplayed with condition so be sure to check out my other auctions.
