Beautiful early strung Alexander kin in organdy dress and straw hat. I had the doll restrung so she can hold a pose. I love the faces on these early dolls with pretty painted eyelashes. There is a little paint wear on lower lip. Dress was yellow to begin with but has darkened with age and has brown staining particularly on bodice. She has underwear and a stretched out slip, socks and black velvet shoes. Her clothes could be brightened with a wash. Her body could use a wash-there are light marks on her legs from wear but not bad in my opinion.

The stole is original to the navy taffeta cap sleeve dress and white ruffle hat from 1957. The dress is being offered in a separate sale. It is in excellent vintage condition. There are no odors, stains, or rips to the stole. The flower bouquet is still attached to the stole with the original staples, the leaves are dark green, and the original snaps are intact. Cissy is Dressed for a Spring Fashion Parade. Wearing a beautiful fashion of flocked dotted organdy is vintage Madame Alexander Cissy, who originally wore the 1955 blue slipper satin evening gown with silver braid trim. Her hairstyle is unique to that doll which helps to identify her. Cissy that is rare to find for that reason. Here she is dressed in an outstanding creation by the Primrose Doll Shop. Frothy, light, and delicate describes this dress perfectly. She also wears a strand of pearls around her neck, slip, panties, and stockings with coordinating pink strappy high heels. Cissy carries her lucite purse and pink wrist gloves. In her hair in a charming bouquet of cabbage roses. Cissy is in clean excellent condition but her lower legs have some loss of color in spots which does not show easily through her stockings. Cissy’s eyes are a lovely hazel color, lashes are all there and just a bit thin on her left eye. Hair is in the original set. Face has been professionally refreshed and sealed. She has her original slip and panties and white straw hat. Her elastic on slip has had some repair and also her hat. The hat had to have a spot on the back repaired with glue, as it was starting to tear. But is not really noticeable. Her dress is crisp and stiff. I have steamed it to remove wrinkles and is in excellent condition. Her hat is white straw with tiny white velvet flower trim. The doll is clean with no odors, no splits, or cracks. Her arms are clean and even color. Her face is beautiful with matte finish, one stroke brows, blue green eyes, full lashes, nice cheek blush, and full red mouth. Her hair is a honey blond color pulled back into a tight cluster at the nape of her neck. Madame Alexander 20 Cissy Doll Red/White HTF Organdy Polka Dots 1956 Dress. Up for sale is one of my Madame Alexander Cissy dolls, plus her dress & accessories. Doll has not been improved by me, Ive owned for approximately 10 years. I see no cracks or repairs, she has blue/green eyes & lush hair which would look superb if fixed right. Because Im afraid of doing damage, Ive never done. Wig is tight on head. Alexander on back of head. She may have been restrung her left leg, to me, looks a tad longer, but maybe she needs new stringing, although she poses well for me & legs bend at appropriate places- hips knees. Just looked & string is white so guess she is restrung. Her left leg seems to go a little forward when standing – which now I would attribute to the restringing. Just looked at my other Cissys & their left leg looks a tad longer also. Her paint on her body has some lighter spots & inside of both legs have what to me looks like a line or rub. Her eyes clack when opening eyes, & Im pretty sure at one time I thought her eyes needed replacing, adjusting something, because even though I cant get get them to sink with eye lashes in head, now, it did it in the past 5-6 years ago. Shes been posed & dressed In my closet for her life with me. Eyes are opening & closing well now. The red & white organdy polka dot dress was made in 1956. Described as dress of sheer dotted organdy with typical shirtwaist construction. Features a built in taffeta camisole trimmed with ungathered Val lace. Supposed to have belt loops. One may still be partly there, & supposed to have red ribbon sash (easy enough to replace) but I always used this very versatile red plastic belt. The hat & purse are Robert Originals & compliment the dress, at least to me it does. She also had on (& is included) a full cotton slip & panties. Her shoes are black with white straps, (the dress originally came with red), & a fluffy slip I was told to be original, but Im not sure myself. Her red purse has a red polka dot bow which complements her dress. The dress has a couple brown spots on left sleeve, a funny repair on outside of right sleeve, a tiny hole on left back by waist. This has always been my favorite of the Cissy dresses & Im glad it will go to someone who appreciates not only these dolls but the beautiful clothes that were designed for her. Oh yes you can see the tag part that was sewn in & cut off on the bank of the dress. VINTAGE MADAME ALEXANDER CISSY DOLL IN GREEN ORGANDY GARDEN PARTY DRESS. The hat and purse are replacements, but are perfect accessories for the dress. The shoes are replacements as well. The dress does look pale green in person, but some of the photos make it look greyish. The sash could stand pressing, but overall, I would say that the dress is in very good played with condition. The doll shows some soiling, but again, looks to be in very nice played with condition. Her eyes are clear and her lashes are full. Her eyes stick a bit when she goes from standing up to lying down.
