Vintage 1968 Madame Alexander Cissette Portrette Renoir #1175 10 Doll Tagged gown. All hard plastic with socket head, lady torso and legs with jointed knees, and sleep eyes. She is wearing a tagged blue gown with ruffles and flower embellished at the collar, a petticoat with tulle, panties, nylon stockings, red heels and red hat with flowers. The costume is tagged “Renoir”. Outfit has normal age discoloration and fading, but overall in great condition. Shoes are in good condition. Stockings are in good condition, but have some yellow dots pictured. Hat is also in good condition. Body has discoloration and seam splits. No other accessories unless shown or described. 1960s Madame Alexander 20 HTF Renoir Cissy doll in original ensemble. In my Cissy book it says she is 1959 but when I researched her a little more on the Internet I believe she is from 1961. She is called the Renoir in Yellow. This is a portrait model Renoir Cissy from 1961. Sissy is 20 inches tall made of hard plastic with vinyl arms. She has a gorgeous brunette specially hairstyle blue sleep eyes with full lashes, vivid facial coloring with no flaws. The doll has not been seen in any catalogs but is believed to be for my missing back cover of a 1959 catalog. Her sleeveless dressed is unadorned and made of heavy slipper satin and also tagged Madam Alexander Cissy. Her matching jacket is trim with black sequin braid trim. She carries a black velvet purse which this is a Madame Alexander purse but not original to the Renoir outfit. Her outfit is not perfect. It has a few pin holes and a couple small stains. Also a very snags. Easily cover by how full her dress is. I also added a Madame Alexander portrait doll petticoat. Her shoes are awesome Madame Alexander Cissy shoes WithI believe her Original seam stockings. Braided low bun Renoir is what her wig is called. A spanner bar pulls her hair back tight and loose curls to make a low bun wrapped in a braid. She is a brunette. She has a show stopping Black velvet bonnet bedecked with colorful silk flowers and a velvet ribbon black net facial veil. And magnificent cameo necklace with matching earrings. This is the 1967 Madame Alexander Renoir portrait doll. This is big sister. See the photo above to see big and little sister together. Big sister is a beautiful Madame Alexander portrait doll. Her brown eyes are set in such a way that she seems a bit mischievous. She may have a joke to tell. She is wearing a cheerful red taffeta hat with flowers, a sleeveless navy blue gown trimmed with lace, and over it, a tight cut jacket with lace-trimmed sleeves and a flower at the waist. If you have Marjorie Uhl’s book Madame Alexander’s Ladies of Fashion, a full description of her is found on page 125. One of the photos shows all that comes with her. Her hat and dress are original. The rest is replacement. Her new pearl earrings match the original. Her red sandals are Madame Alexander original, but the elastic has stretched. She has a new short crinoline petticoat that works well with her dress, new hosiery, and bloomers. She is in good condition except for some leg cracks as mentioned above, none of them dangerous. She has flawless eyes, her original complexion, and her hair in its original carefully pinned chignon. Her dress is in beautiful condition and the outfit is complete right down to the pantaloons, hose, and shoes. The elastic on the ankle strap has loosened, but the shoes stay on the feet. There are two things that keep this doll from being mint in box. The first, is the rear bustle ribbon has some age spots. I suspect it is from being in the box for so long. 21 RARE Madame Alexander Composition Portrait Renoir Lady Windermere 1938 1946. 21 RARE Madame Alexander Composition Portrait Renoir or Lady Windermere circa 1938 WOW! It is not very often the elusive Madame Alexander Composition Portrait “Lady of Fashion” dolls come on the market. This is a 21″ composition portrait identified as “Renoir in the Alexander archive. It is more often identified as “Lady Windermere” as in “American Composition Dolls” Volume Two by Ursula R. See photo on page 25. The doll is in good condition with light crazing on her composition as seen in the photos. The facial complexion paint is vibrant and has not been retouched. The hand painted lashes and eyebrows are signature features of the portrait dolls, as are the blue painted eyelids, gray eye shadow and bright lip color. The full mohair wig is in the original set. This doll is wearing her original outfit with just the stockings, hat, and panties replaced. The composition 21 portrait dolls were originally marketed in 1938. They were discontinued during the WWII era, reappearing in 1946 when more characters were added to the group. Some of the original set were re-named in the later group. Lady Windermere or Miss Renoir was marketed in 1938 by Madame Alexander as one of the desired Lady of Fashion Portrait dolls. She has deep crazing and I believe her dress has been reworked and the ribbon replaced. She has some kind of flaw/damage behind her ear (see pictures). Maybe touch up paint on her crazing? She has her original curled mohair wig with flower hat. She comes in shoes and undergarments, with a ruffled lace underskirt, pantaloons and stockings. She has beautiful golden eyes and full lashes with blue eyeshadow. She is gorgeous and sophisticated. She wears black lace gloves and a beaded bracelet. All fingers and toes.
