This is a beautiful example of a. Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander “Maggie” doll. Alexander dolls from this era are highly collectible, known for their high-quality hard plastic construction, expressive faces, and elaborate clothing. Her outfit was hand-made by noted doll maker Harriet Wolford in the 1990s. The “Maggie” face, introduced in the late 1940s and popular through the 1950s. It features chubby cheeks, large blue sleeping eyes (with real upper lashes and painted lower ones), a closed mouth with rosy lips, and a sweet, wide-eyed innocent expression. Many collectors adore this mold for its charming, childlike look-distinct from the earlier “Margaret” face (which is similar but slightly different) or the more glamorous “Cissy” face. Blonde wavy mohair wig with bangs and a ribbon bow. Hard plastic, jointed (at neck, shoulders, and hips), a “walker” body that allows the head to turn side-to-side when the legs move. The pink sheer organdy dress with lace trim, ruffled layers, puffed sleeves, and dotted underskirt is a classic 1950s Madame Alexander style. The white crocheted socks and black patent Mary Jane shoes are also period-appropriate accessories. Primarily produced in the early to mid-1950s. Maggie dolls were often unmarked or minimally marked, made in the USA.

1937 Madame Alexander 13 McGuffey Ana composition doll that is in excellent condition. All original, dress, shoes, hat. Face paint is very good, composition is very good, her eyes are blown, just like the Shirley Temple eyes. But, her hair is in its original set. She has an open mouth with 2 teeth. All her eyelashes are there. Her outfit is tagged McGuffey Ana. Now she is a bit mysterious, in that the back of her head is stamped Elizabeth, Madame Alexander. I looker her up and Princess Elizabeth came in a 13 doll, but the heads are different. This is definitely a McGuffey Ana doll. The other doll had a closed mouth and blue tin sleep eyes. In any case, this one is a gem in all ways.

Vintage Madame Alexander Dolls. Lot of 11 dolls. I do not know the history of these dolls or whether they have been displayed or not. They are in good condition to excellent condition and most of them seem to have the original packaging, box and cards. G’day from Down Under I’ve been collecting Madame Alexander dolls, and in particular Alexanderkins, for quite a lot of years now. Started with Cissy, Lissy and Maggie, and then moved on to the smaller dolls when space became an issue. Having recently downsized our living arrangements yet again (which means even less room for displaying my dolls) I have struggled with the idea of letting some of them go (I have around 100, many of them pretty close to mint condition) but now I realise it’s time to do this. This one is a 1953 straight leg non walker, brunette triple stitched wig is lovely set, and wearing an outfit that includes pink floral jumper dress with white ric rac, and a one piece romper in pink, also with white ric rac. The bonnet matches the romper fabric, and as you can see, the outfit still has it’s Alexanderkin tag attached. Flutter eyes are blue and move freely. Shoes are top-stitched black with fuzzy soles, as it typical of the kins of this early era. Socks are the typical rayon in white, and the whole outfit comes together beautifully in my opinion. She has a little blush left on her cheeks, her brows are still there, and her under-eye lashes are very dark. She stands on her own without any difficulty; she is well strung and holds a pose well as the first pic shows.
