Madame Alexander Wendy 1955 69 year old SLW “Wendy goes on a Train Journey” No box, no hand tag. Dressed in a red plaid pleated skirt, Cream felt jacket with buttons (Tag was cut off). Matching cream colored beanie with red pompoms. Please note the condition of her undershirt has faded a tiny bit. She has been restrung and clothes cleaned up. She should be in red socks and her orig shoes are a bit scuffed see pics. Smoke free pet free home. She is an infused doll with high cheek color, one stroke brows, full lashes, green eyes and red mouth. Her outfit is rare to find. It consists of a crisp gold lace skirt, with red flower corsage on side of waist, green jersey top, gold belt, and rhinestone pin. Under the skirt is a crisp yellow half slip with tulle ruffle and yellow panties. She wears full long nylon stockings and has gold high heels with red velvet flowers. Three things I have to mention. She came to me without a belt, so I made one for her. Her shoes are reproduction, but I have her original shoes and will send them with her. The elastic was loose, so that is why I replaced them. Also the blouse she is wearing is different from most Cissy tops. The closure in back is different too and old bias tape was used on the inside of the blouse. I presume it is correct. I got the doll from the original owner years ago and presume she is factory original. I have nothing to compare her to, as this outfit is seldom seen. 1956 Madame Alexander Cissy doll skirt and blouse. I want to be very clear that there is no fading or color variance to the skirt. It appears that way in some of the pictures due to the nature if the polished cotton fabric and the flash. It is a rich navy blue throughout. Waistline is adorned with flowers that are in excellent condition as is the skirt which is crisp and clean. The blouse is a sheer nylon trimmed in Val lace and is also in excellent vintage condition. Pictured on Page #99 of the book “The Cissy Files” the two pieces are in excellent vintage condition. There are no holes, rips, tears, odors to the skirt and top that I can find. There is a very tiny pin dot brown mark on the skirt and another very small brown mark high on the back of the skirt just under the waistband. They were hard to capture in the photos. The nylon knit top is a little yellow on the inside neckline. This may soak out but I will leave that to the new owner. The top is tagged the skirt is not tagged and never was. It is my understanding that Madame Alexander did not tag this skirt. The skirt is cut on the bias and is not a perfect circle. I have had several of these skirts over the years and they are all like this. The red shoes accented on the toes with rhinestones are vintage shoes used by Madame Alexander.
