VNTG 1953 Madame Alexanderkins Strung Doll Tosca / Lt Auburn Triple Stitch Wig. This 1953 chonky heavy little beauty is in Excellent GORGEOUS condition. Her Tosca color hair is very nice, (looks more red in photos than in real life) She has slightly rosy cheeks still. Her eyes work perfectly. No major stains or splits, her body has some imperfections from original manufacture that look like scratches, but they are not, and normal for this plastic. She is simply GORGEOUS. I recently took apart a drop waist Cissy dress that was in shreds. This new dress has been created following that pattern stitch by stitch. This vintage polished cotton material has never been washed and has that sheen typical of the 1950′s style. A dress similar to this one is depicted on page 171 of the most recent Kiley book. She describes it as RARE. The pretty stripes are accented with a gross grain ribbon with a bow in the back. This dress fits Cissy like a glove, and would not work on a fuller figured doll without moving the snaps. What a perfect spring dress for Cissy. The Cissy doll is not for sale. Cissette is very nice, not mint, played with and displayed doll. She has triple stitched wig and nice face coloring. Her knees and hip joints work well. Her dress is blue taffeta with organdy sleeves and inserts. No tag or sash. The dress is in good condition, not mint. It has a 3 snap closures. It has had repairs to seams. It has been ironed and has shiny parts in the taffeta. Her hat is not an original Cissette hat but a vintage replacement. Her shoes are vintage Cissette. The elastic is loose. The doll is in good condition. She has lovely tosca hair topped with a pink bow made from alexander ribbon of the time. She has nice overall coloring and her body is free of cracks or stains. Her no button works great but her yes button does have a tendency to stick. The dress is a. Pretty white organdy with lace details and a big pink bow at the waist. The dress is very clean and an all over white organdy color. The dress is free of holes, tears and odors. Under the dress she has on an organdy slip and bloomers. The slip is slightly stretched but stays up nicely with the bloomers underneath of it. The bloomers are in good shape. Lastly she has on black top stitch shoes that display beautifully but are missing a lot of their fuzziness. All together it is a nice doll that will be a great addition to your collection.
