When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, Finish is satin, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. Hard to find mid size. Jane has her original Mohair wig. Her sleep eyes are clear with the exception of a line in the right eye. They are her original eyes and looked good, so she kept them. Her dress and Organdy blouse/onsie are reproduction made from Vintage fabrics Patterned after a original dress. The hat looks is very similar Vintage to the original. Good vintage black snap shoes. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was factory made (not what a 80 year old faded doll looks like). With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. Their imperfections are part of the charm of composition. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I have been a skilled Artist all my life. My attention to detail of the painted features is expert. 13 Betty Face Madame Alexander LITTLE COLONEL doll. A character role for Shirley Temple in the 30′s. For Shirley temple dolls. Composition, harder to find doll. Clothes are Factory head to toe. This doll has little to almost no crazing. Her mohair wig is lush and has pins in the curls. She has some normal joint rubs. But fingers and toes are complete, no splits or breaks. Her facial features are really nice. Her coloring is beautiful. Eyes are brown tin, so no clouding. She has been restrung. The soles of her shoes were redone with suede. Her dress is not mint, it does have that vintage look and feel but really nice. Her hat has a little bleed by the red bow and needs a couple stitches in a inner seam. Please look at all the pictures. Vintage Madame Alexander 14 Doll – Little Colonel. Original 1930s in great condition. She has Brown sleep eyes with lashes. Her mohair wig is in its original set. Please review the pictures, there are some crazing on her arms and the dress has some stains and tiny holes. She comes with original black shoes and socks. The dress is tagged Madame Alexander New York. She has been in a storage unit in New Orleans since 1991. She was inside the original Box when found (March 2018) but the box fell apart and only part of the box was saved (see pictures). I also have more pictures of her available. She is as minty as a 85+ year old doll could be. Her face, arms, and legs are flawless with no crazing. I did not take off her dress to preserve her originality but I’m sure that her body is flawless too. She still has blush on her hands and knees. She has no odors. She can stand on her own and her head and arms as poseable. Her tagged dress is mint and crisp. I looked through a couple of Shirley books and I can’t find this dress style anywhere. Her generic box is marked “green/window”. Probably supposed to be a store window display but it doesn’t look like she has been displayed at all. Box shows age with stains and shelfwear. Do not missed this chance to own a truly rare and exceptionally beautiful Shirley Temple doll. I also accept other forms of payments. This listing is for one of my dear friends treasured dolls. This is her Jane Withers. Doll by Madame Alexander. So let me tell you what I know about this Jane Withers doll. She was made by Madame Alexander in 1937. She measures 13 inches tall. She is all composition. No markings that I could find. The clothes I do not think are not original. But look appropriate on her. They are home stitched. The wig is mused but full. There are some cracks coming down and going up from her eyes. Her eyes are crackled. There is a hole and a Crack on the back of her leg. There is crazing on her legs. There are some white spots in her face.. Not sure what they are but they are shown in the photos. Socks are replacements but shoes are old. They are worn especially the left one. So while she isn’t a perfect or mint doll she is pretty and displays well. She does have some cracks and crazing. My friend bought her dolls for pleasure and not as an investment… Believed dolls deserve respect for just having survived the years of play and love of their small owners. They brought her such joy and we hope they continue to do so in their new homes. Please ask questions if there is anything I haven’t covered.
