I will be listing various Cissy and Elise dolls as well as clothing and accessories. This doll is a phenomenal example of an early Cissy doll. It is so difficult to find them in this condition. She has the loveliest complexion with rosy beige undertones and velvety patina. DOLL: 1956 painted doll. Her body has a good heavy balanced weight and she hold a pose well. She was able to balance on her own for this photo shoot! CLOTHING: VHTF variation Dress is mint. It is made of a vibrant marine blue lightweight taffeta. Dress has not been washed or ironed. Sash is also mint with original flower. The coat has some yellowing, especially on the coin trim. The ivory satin also shows some foxxing. It should soak well in oxi, leaving up to new owner to decide. Coat may have been ironed. Replaced elastic in shoes. Can pose and balance unaided. No splits or cracks. FACE: What can I say??? I LOVE a factory finish on an early doll. The velvet finish is so warm snd inviting. Some photograph like a dream and she is one of those. She has been lightly wiped down to remove any dust. Her right cheek is original, left cheek very slightly airbrushed to match, sealed. Lips have had a satin overcoat. EYES: BLUE, yep, her eyes are still BLUE. Her eyes are clear… Not a drop of yellowing… All original eyebrows and painted underlashes. Her eyelashes are full. Replaced brush lashes on right eye, filled on left eye. WIG: blonde up-do with most of the original hair ties and pins, has not been combed out etc. Good shine, wig curl is factory set and tight. REFERENCE PAGES FROM CISSY! BOOK: pg 78-79, 216-217. Up for sale is this EXTREMELY RARE 18 vintage Madame Alexander BLUE VARIATION of the Edwardian Glamour Girl. She is almost always seen in the PINK embossed dress. She is a lovely sample of an EXTREMELY RARE and hard to find doll. Her full-skirted, tagged gown with Blue embossed flowers and vines is made of crisp polished cotton, and is trimmed with lovely white ball trim. Her dress does have a couple small spots/areas with light yellow aging. Her bonnet is a stiff black taffeta edged in black lace and adorned with a beautiful white ostrich feather. She has on her blue gloves and carries her black Madame Alexander Hat box. Her Coloring is outstanding! Her eyes are a very vibrant sky blue that matches the blue on her dress nicely. She has long thick eyelashes, and shiny perfect curls in original set. She wears a white hoopslip with attached lace-edged panties, which is unwashed and still bright, but shows a couple tiny holes near the hem. Although I have some wrapping tissue helping fill out the skirt for the photos. Her original net stockings are in beautiful condition, and her black velvet shoes are still nice too (with one sole showing a touch more wear than the other). Prized by collectors because of her rare outfit, this Cissy is one of the most pristeen high-end dolls I have ever come across. This doll is original to her outfit she came from the Madame Alexander factory wearing this ensemble. The original owner never undressed her and she was stored in a cabinet for years and years. Her hair and her face have not been touched no air-brushing, no re-blushing, no re-painting. This is very rare to find in the current world of vintage Cissy dolls. Her body is perfect, as you would expect, since she was never played with. Cissys golden blonde hair is styled in the formal way with the sides pulled up into a cluster of curls on the crown and cascading down into another cluster of curls at the nape. Her eyes are a sparkly blue-green color. She is a gorgeous doll one of Madame Alexanders most elegant! Cissy is wearing her tagged, original RARE evening gown that is known to collectors as the Camellia gown. This lovely gown is constructed of silk printed with camellias and roses. There is a small bow at the waist for accent and the skirt falls into graceful folds from the box pleats at the waist. The bodice has capped sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and there are tiny tucks at the bust and the shoulders. This ensemble has a matching velveteen stole lined in same fabric as the gown. There are two variations of the Camellia evening gown the variation on this Cissy is the rare version in fact, you hardly ever see it come up for sale. Cissys silk gown and the stole lining are not faded and the print is as bright, lovely and minty. The velveteen on the stole had faded, so the stole was de-constructed to save the lining and then re-constructed with vintage velveteen that exactly matched the non-faded part of her old stole. She still retained her original ivory taffeta panties and hooped taffeta petticoat. They are both in great condition just like her gown, but the petticoat elastic has relaxed, so I ran a thread through it. Cissys veil had pretty much disintegrated into nothing. Her high heel elastic was shot, so they were re-made with new insoles and new silver elastic to replicate the originals. The dolls original tear drop clear rhinestone earrings were still sparkly, but her necklace had blackened over the years and had no sparkle or shine left, so it was replaced with a new one. Her ring is original to her and is one of the non-adjustable rings so sought after by Cissy collectors. It is big and gorgeous. You dont see these rings very often. Cissy is wearing a new bracelet made of rose Swarovski rhinestones but best of all, she is also able to flirt because she carries a lovely little fan with a cherry blossom motif just the right accessory for this gown. This Cissy is just….. Special in so many ways. She is elegant by herself, but since she is dressed in a rare and beautiful outfit, she will be a very high-end, lovely addition to any collection. This is an original vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll dress from 1958 known as the blue camellia variation print dress. It is tagged Cissy and is in excellent condition. All the snaps are present and the tag is sewn in the center back seam. I do not believe it has ever been washed since these dresses tend to bleed easily when washed. Madame Alexander Cissy Doll 1956 Pink Satin Ballgown Dress Variation. You are purchasing Madame Alexander Cissy Doll 1956 Pink Satin Ballgown Dress Variation. My mom had two versions this one is a thicker material and the flowers are different and its wider on the bottom this is from her estate. This one has a fuller draping(think that is the correct terminology name for the wider bottom) and the inner material is a thick material peau de soie feels almost like a woven felt inside its a thicker satin then the other one. It is tagged with a crisp cissy tag. Item #’s 2041 22-61 This was made in 1956. Shown on Cissy for modeling purpose only she is not included. It is in used condition. Its a gorgeous gown. It has some flaws. It has aging it has become a paler pink and the ribbon straps are aged. It has soiling and some stains as shown in the close ups. On the back there is a few small reddish color stains. The back seam bottom has a small separation but you do not have to mend as when the snaps are closed you cant see it. The snaps all there and work. The flowers some aging, some wear, soiling, and some color fade. They are full does not look like any are missing. There is some minor edge fray to edge of the flowers some bends. There is areas of snags in the dress as shown in the close ups, a few minor pin holes, and there is one line of a snag run shown in the close ups. There is no big holes and no tears. There is a few pop stitches nothing major. I have provided plenty of close up photos inside the listing with all the flaws shown. It needs to be ironed.
