Her dress is professionally remade very close. To the original style – it even has square snaps. I’m changing the listing from “restored” to “redressed” to be more accurate. KAREN BALLERINA – MADAME ALEXANDER – 18 ALL COMPO VINTAGE. Condition is “Used” but Excellent. She has never been played with nor undressed. She is all original, her outfit is complete. Her stringing in her arms are loose, but can be re-strung. Owner will leave that to the new Owner. Although she has never been undressed, she has been displayed in a climate-monitored atmosphere out of sunlight. Only crazing is above the photo left eye. I have taken a close-up of that area. As you can see in the pictures, she is still in her original, untouched elaborate coiffure with braided coronet at the crown and floral-decorated coiled braids at each side of the face. Jointing at the shoulders and hips. She has her original, still stiff tulle ballerina costume with gold rick-rack trim, original panties, ballet slippers, velvet choker ribbon and wrist ties. “Ballerina” known as “Karen Ballerina” was offered in the Madame Alexander 1946 catalog.
