Beautiful early strung Alexander kin in organdy dress and straw hat. I had the doll restrung so she can hold a pose. I love the faces on these early dolls with pretty painted eyelashes. There is a little paint wear on lower lip. Dress was yellow to begin with but has darkened with age and has brown staining particularly on bodice. She has underwear and a stretched out slip, socks and black velvet shoes. Her clothes could be brightened with a wash. Her body could use a wash-there are light marks on her legs from wear but not bad in my opinion.

This doll is in beautiful condition with red cheeks and a stunning dress! Her limbs are a little loose. Two Madame Alexander Alexander-kins Hansel and Gretal Walker Dolls made in 1955, based on the Wendy-kins mold, and wearing Tyrolian style clothing. Both have blonde hair in gender specific styles, functional sleep-eyes, and fully functional walker action. Both are dressed as they appear in the Madame Alexander Catalogue. Rare to find separately, and very rarely found together. 445, 1955 still stands on his own without a display stand, despite having never been restrung to my knowledge. His walker function still works. He is wearing overalls or lederhosen made of stiffened black velvet and trimmed in blue ric rac. The coveralls are worn over a one piece yellow and blue striped jumper or “onesie” / footie. The suspenders are tight fitting. The snaps are all present and functional. The faux brass buttons are still present on his legs. His hat is in felt, and still has the flowers, as well as a feather. His shoes are in excellent condition. He is in overall very good condition. His only signs of age will be listed at the end of this page, along with the signs of age on the Gretel Doll. 470, 1955 still stands on her own without a display stand, despite having never been restrung to my knowledge. Her walker function still works. She is wearing a lace-up dirndl or corselet of stiffened black velvet, with matching blue-and-white flowered apron and bonnet. Beneath, she wears a dress with a pink taffeta skirt beneath a light and airy upper. Her shoes are in excellent condition, and are worn over the original Madame Alexander socks. Her undergarments (pictured) are in very good condition, and the elastic is still well-fitted. She still has her original ribbon ties. Overall, the hidden part of her dress is in fair to poor condition while the doll is in good condition. Her age marks will be listed below. Hansel’s signs of age. Discoloration (pictured in closeup) on the front of his onesie and some stretching around the collar of that garment. Wear on the flowers on his lederhosen. Based on the 1955 catalogue, it appears that he is missing the flowers that once adorned the snaps on the front of his lederhosen. Fading and fraying of the Madame Alexander tag on the garments. (tag is still obviously Madame Alexander). Gretel’s signs of age. Her pink taffeta is a bit faded. The upper part of her dress, thankfully hidden by the velvet dirndl, is quite worn, and shows tearing as seen in the photos. The Madame Alexander tag on her dress is quite faded, frayed, and torn. Both dolls are ready for display right now, or to be taken to full restoration level by a professional doll doctor.

MADAME ALEXANDER-KINS 8 DOLL Bend Knee Walker WENDY & Trunk VINTAGE 1957. This Brunette Wendy is simply adorable and has those rare dark eyes and hair. There are no splits on this doll and her walker still works. Her clothing is in good shape but could use a little clean up as well as the doll. Her wig has a little spot on the back where it shows through, just due to how it was originally glued. Her outfit is original as shown in a photo of a reference book I own by Patricia Smith called, Madame Alexander Collector’s Dolls. She’s in pretty nice shape but could use a few touch ups. Vintage 1957 Madame Alexander-Kins #348 Variation “Wendy Loves School Dresses” Straight leg walker. She is wearing a dress with pink flowers, matching panties, a pink pinafore, white socks, fuzzy bottom suede shoes, and a green straw hat with flowers. Hair is set in two braids. She is in overall good condition. She is from a longtime advanced Madame Alexander doll collector’s collection. A must have for your collection! Hair is in great condition. Dress and panties have slight age discoloration, but otherwise in great condition. Dress doesn’t have a tag, but it is definitely Madame Alexander. It also haves yellow mark pictured. Pinafore is beautiful, but does have a small unraveling piece on the corner pictured. Socks and shoes are in great condition. Hat is also in good condition. Hangtag has minor bending, but otherwise great! She has seam splits pictured. No other accessories unless shown or described.
