Madame Alexander Dolls

Of the more rare Me & My Shadow series, Agatha is one of, if not the very most rare and hard to find doll in that series. She has a very ornate outfit. She wears a pink, tagged, taffeta gown with purple and yellow eyeloop trim, blue velvet forget-me-nots, gathers, flares etc. It is fitted from the bodice to the hips, with gathers accentuating her hips, and very full gathered skirt. In the back there is bow-like bustle, with wings that extend beneath and a LONG decorated train. The sleeves have ruffled tulle on the underside. The tulle is a little brittle with a section partially broken off on her left arm. Her bonnet is in lovely condition, with no breaks in the straw. It has a lovely pink moire ribbon weaving across the top with bows and tying in a bow under her chin. It has lovely blue and cream velvet forget-me-nots, and a couple perfect cabbage roses as well. She wears a very detailed light cream, taffeta under-slip, with ruffled tulle and trimmed edges. Her taffeta pantaloons with pink bows are in fantastic shape as well. Her original light cream stockings are still fitted to her legs and her purple velvet snap shoes are lovely as well. She has a pink taffeta “parasol”, and pink madame Alexander hat box. She has beautiful dark brown hair in smooth hairdo with curled under ends pinned sleekly in the back. She does have some vintage glue residue at the top of her forehead just past the edge of the wig. It can best be seen the photo of her laying down. Ive heard it can be removed, but I will let the new owner decide if they want to do something about it. She has blue eyes, bright pink lips, and two stroke brows. She has the lovely classic Cissy face so many love. Overall she is a Lovely sample of a VERY rare and hard to find doll. She comes from a smoke and pet free home, with no odors. Produced in 1957 with the Wendy Ann face and marked ALEX on her back. Her number is #434. Absolutely darling all original doll in her tagged checked taffeta gown, black velvet jacket, wonderful black straw hat with veil and feather, original white pantaloons and slip with lace trim, and original socks and black shoes. She is carrying her original purse and earrings in her ears. Tag on inside of dress reads, Alexander-kins/Madame Alexander/REG. Her all hard plastic body is in excellent condition with no cracks, flaws, or smells. She has bend knees. Her shiny blonde hair is in the original set. She is a wonderful addition to your 8 Alexander collection. She has very light wear, expected for her age, but overall fantastic condition. AUNT AGATHA IS A 1957 8 WENDY BEND KNEE WALKER… AND THE WALKER WORKS VERY WELL. SHE IS IN HER ORIGINAL SHELF WORN BOX WITH THE TOP MISSING. IT HAS 434 STAMP PRINTED AND AUNT AGATHA WRITTEN IN PENCIL ON THE END OF THE BOX. HER BEAUTIFUL BLOND TRIPLE STITCHED WIG IS PULLED BACK FROM HER FACE AND TO THE BACK OF HER NECK AND STYLED INTO CURLS. HER FACE DOES NOT HAVE HIGH COLOR ON THE CHEEKS, BUT THEY ARE ROSY. HER LIPS ARE RED, DARK BLUE EYES, PAINTED LOWER LASHES AND BROWS. SHE HAS DROP RHINESTONE EARRINGS. HER HAIR HAS THE BLACK VEIL (SEE LAST PHOTO) PARTIALLY OVER HER FACE. THE CHECKED TAFFETA GOWN IS CRISP AND CLEAN WITH NO FLAWS. IT IS TRIMMED WITH LACE AROUND THE NECK OF THE DRESS. THERE ARE 4 TUCKS AT THE HEM AND THE SKIRT IS VERY FULL. SHE HAS HER BLACK JACKET TRIMMED IN BLACK BEADING THAT GOES ALL AROUND THE TOP, FRONT AND BACK OF THE JACKET. THE JACKET HAS A PEPLUM RUFFLE THAT GOES TO THE BACK OF THE JACKET. THERE IS LOOP TRIM AT THE SLEEVE OPENINGS. DRESS TAGGED INSIDE THE SKIRT SEAM “ALEXANDER-KINS”. SHE IS CARRYING HER VELVET PURSE WITH THE GOLD CHAIN SECURELY TIED TO HER WRIST. THERE IS A SMALL SQUARE GOLD TAG ON HER LEFT WRIST THAT HAS BEEN TIED ON WITH 114 WRITTEN ON IT IN INK. THE SLIP IS LACE TRIMMED AT THE HEM AND IS SPARKLING WHITE. THE PANTALOONS ARE THE SAME WAY, TRIMMED IN LACE AND CRISP AND CLEAN AND WHITE. SHE HAS SHORT NYLON ANKLE STOCKINGS AND BLACK SIDE SNAP SHOES WITH FUZZY SOLES. I NEED TO ADRESS THE HAT. THIS BLACK HAT WITH THE FLOWERS ON THE SIDE LOOKS SIMILAR BUT NOT IDENTICAL TO THE PICTURE ON PAGE 93 OF THE ALEXANDER-KINS BOOK. I HAVE THIS SAME DOLL IN MY COLLECTION AND HER HAT IS A TRI-SHAPED HAT WITH 2 FEATHERS IN IT… IT IS PULLED UP IN THE BACK AND MADE IN THE SAME WAY AS MA MADE HER HATS… BUT I CAN NOT FIND A PICTURE OF THIS DOLL WITH EXACTLY THIS HAT.
