1930′s Original Madame Alexander 8 Toddler Dionne Quintuplets Adorable! They are marked Madame Alexander and are in very nice condition for being over 80 years old. They have some minor crazing, but all are tightly strung. The wigs are sparse, but look nice with their bonnets on. Since these originally had hair, their heads were not painted. The dresses are organdy replacements. Very nicely sewn and colors are perfect! They are wearing white Ginny Mary Jane shoes and replacement socks. 5 vintage (1930′s) Madame Alexander Dionne Quintuplets with (1984 Quints 50th Birthday) May Pole. Dressed in tagged clothes with name pins. They have straight legs some have paint loss in spots , their composition is in good condition. The May Pole is on a turntable and they have little pink stands. This is the Dionne Quintuplets 8 inch dolls. By Madame Alexander from the 1930′s each doll has her clothes hair bonnet and name tag. 3 of them have their booties and one is barefoot and one is missing a bootie. Each doll has her name tag. They do show some wear they are from the 1930′s all clothes show wear, staining and age. All arms and legs are moveable and eyes are in good condition too. Dionne Quintuplet and Quintmobile. This unique and truly historic set is a story in itself. Made of composition, each baby is unique with their own original dress and name tag and accessories. The mobile states each girl’s name but is missing its wheels (see pictures) Each doll is beautiful and quite old but truly show the quality of work the famed doll company is known for. Cecile: is dressed in a blue onesie with matching bonnet. Her onesies is attached in the back by a safety pin. Annette: is dressed in a yellow onesie with matching bonnet. She only has one shoe and one sock and her outfit is also attached by a safety pin in the back. Yvonne: is dressed in a pink onesie and comes with one shoe and sock, no bonnet and her outfit is connected by a safety pin she has a slight scratch line on her left leg. Emelie: is dressed in a purple onesie with matching bonnet with no shoes or socks and her outfit is attached with a safety pin. This set of dolls is a “matched set”, which means everything matches. All of the girl’s clothing is correct, down to the shoes and socks. This set of dolls has been together for over 80 years. This set of dolls also comes with a set of brass name pins which has “MADAME ALEXANDER” stamped on the back sides. This set of dolls has had it’s composition cleaned, and then all of the dolls have been professionally restrung. Dolls have all of their fingers and toes. Composition has some very minor crazing. The dolls clothing has been lightly laundered, and is in excellent condition. I don’t see any holes or tears at all. The bonnets still have their ORIGINAL ribbons!!! Clothing still has nice coloring!! The doll’s shoes are in great shape, and does not have any broken snaps. Doll’s have full heads of hair, and eye’s don’t have any chips.. Composition has some rubs, chips, and crazing. Please look at photos. Dolls have open and close eyes that have crazing, and it looks like someone at one time painted a little dot in the middle of each eye, but it is hard to see. I had a seamstress who does beautiful work make cotton seersucker dresses and bonnets. Clothing is color coordinated with each of the different girls: Annette – Yellow, Emelie – Lavender, Cecile – Green, Marie – Blue, & Yvonne – Pink. Made in the mid 1930s thru 1940s by Madame Alexander. The 5 little 7 1/2 composition dolls have curved legs. I bought these in the early 1980s at the Gaithersburg Doll Show from a reputable dealer. I was also told I would be the 3rd owner of this set of Dionnes. I have enjoyed these beautiful little babies for almost 40 years. My family lack interest in my doll collection, so I would like my babies to go to other doll collectors, who will know how to take care of them! This set is considered more rare because of the mohair wigs that were glued on over the molded hair. I bought them in the painted wooden bed, the 5 connected gold colored, tin oval picture frames with the little girls faces in them came with the dolls, I added the other stuff over the years! I do want to mention, that they have never been touched up or painted while they have been mine. They all have minor paint wear imperfections but no paint flaking on their eyes or lips, considering their age they are in good condition. I encourage all interested buyers to examine closely all the photos, by enlarging them. I have tried to make them as clear as possible! Set of five composition dolls were marketed by Madame Alexander in the mid-1930s. They are fully marked on both the heads and bodies. They have sweet faces with lashed eyes, closed mouths, rosy cheeks, and brown painted hair. The chubby toddler bodies have rosy knees and each has the original dresses, undergarments, shoes, and stockings. The gold name pins are also still pinned to each doll.
