Up for sale is this EXTREMELY RARE 18 vintage Madame Alexander Cissy-faced Agatha doll from the Me and My Shadow series from 1954, in box. Of the more rare Me and My Shadow portrait series, Agatha is one of, if not the very most rare and hard to find dolls in that series. She has a very ornate outfit. She wears a pink, tagged, taffeta gown with purple and yellow eye loop trim, blue velvet forget-me-nots, gathers, flares, etc. It is fitted from the bodice to the hips, with gathers accentuating her hips, and very full gathered skirt. It has a stuffed bust (like the other me and my shadow and glamour girls should), and there is a slight stretching on her right breast seam, though the long ribbon tends to fall over it naturally. In the back there is a bow-like bustle, with wings that extend beneath, and a LONG decorated train. The sleeves have ruffled tulle on the underside. The tulle is a little brittle with ha section partially broken off on her left arm. Her bonnet is in lovely condition, with no breaks in the straw. It has a lovely pink moire ribbon weaving across the top with bows and tying in a bow under her chin. It has lovely blue and cream velvet forget-me-nots, and cream velvet forget-me-nots , and a couple perfect cabbage roses as well. She has a pink taffeta “parasol”, and pink Madame Alexander hat box. She has a beautiful dark brown hair in smooth hairdo with cured under ends pinned sleekly in the back. She does have some vintage glue residue at the top of her forehead just past the edge of the wig. It can best be seen in the photo of her laying down. I’ve heard it can be removed, but I will let the new owner decide if they want to so something about it. She has blue eyes, bright pink lips, and two strike brows. She has the lovely classic Cissy face so many love. Her box is in OK condition. It has a slight bend on one side and has a little seam separation where the bottom meets the wall of the box. Overall she is a lovely sample of an EXTREMELY RARE and hard to find doll. She doesn’t have odors and comes from a smoke free home. I try to list everything I can think of, but may have missed something important to you. Up for sale is this EXTREMELY RARE 18 vintage Madame Alexander BLUE VARIATION of the Edwardian Glamour Girl. She is almost always seen in the PINK embossed dress. She is a lovely sample of an EXTREMELY RARE and hard to find doll. Her full-skirted, tagged gown with Blue embossed flowers and vines is made of crisp polished cotton, and is trimmed with lovely white ball trim. Her dress does have a couple small spots/areas with light yellow aging. Her bonnet is a stiff black taffeta edged in black lace and adorned with a beautiful white ostrich feather. She has on her blue gloves and carries her black Madame Alexander Hat box. Her Coloring is outstanding! Her eyes are a very vibrant sky blue that matches the blue on her dress nicely. She has long thick eyelashes, and shiny perfect curls in original set. She wears a white hoopslip with attached lace-edged panties, which is unwashed and still bright, but shows a couple tiny holes near the hem. Although I have some wrapping tissue helping fill out the skirt for the photos. Her original net stockings are in beautiful condition, and her black velvet shoes are still nice too (with one sole showing a touch more wear than the other). She doesn’t have odors and comes from a smoke free home. I try to list everything I can think of, but may have missed something important to you. There were only a few of these special dolls made for window displays in just a few high end department stores (in the 1938 and then again after the war in 1946 I believe). I was told this Ballerina outfit style is from the 30s. Her composition is AMAZING. I dont see any crazing, the coloring of her skin & blushing on her cheeks, elbows and knees, & elaborate portrait make-up are vibrant and elegant. She is unusually rare, because of the portrait ballerinas, most had brown braid buns & brown eyes- this has blondish braid buns and outstanding blue eyes with full lashes. Her original Full skirted silky-netted tulle tutu is fragile but lovely, with a few small holes in the tulle. The matching panties are crisply tagged as is typical of these portraits. The heart & star sequins still retain their gold appearance, and her cabbage roses have a lovely round shape to them. The flowers in her hair are beautiful as well with elegant gold stars adorning the leaves and a few petals (matching the ones on her tutu). The black velvet ribbons at her wrists are fairly plush and in lovely condition. She is also still wearing her original soft pink ballet slippers. The photos are part of the description. I try to list everything, but may have missed something important to you. The item “Extremely Rare Madame Alexander Composition Portrait Ballerina” is in sale since Thursday, December 20, 2018.
