This stunning lady (#2285 from 1958) is known to many as The Lady In Red, and this near mint example is a very special Cissy… Her crisply tagged heavy taffeta gown is flawless, except for one pinpoint size dark speck on the bottom left side of the skirt. Her original tulle shawl has two small holes amid all the folds behind the original silver star pin, and this obviously! Is an “invisible” flaw! Cissy wears the original red taffeta slip, and underneath her original hosiery & silver sandals. This Cissy did NOT originally wear a bracelet, but I added this vintage pearl bracelet to compliment her original choker and earrings. It seems some LIRs had a clear rhinestone ring, others a red one… This ring is clear, but I have the vintage red rhinestone ring should you prefer it. Cissy has gorgeous features & all original coloring. Her dark blonde wig is perfection, thick with stacks of curls unique to this wig. She had a very small, narrow separation at the top of her right hip, inside her body cavity, which has been professionally repaired. Also, which is ironically further proof your LIR is original! Cissy has some light red staining on parts of her torso, a result of over 60 years in her beautiful gown. Cissy has crystal clear very-blue eyes with full lashes, and no splits, cracks or odors. If you’ve been dreaming of that elusive, blonde bombshell of a Cissy, this is it! Just in time for Valentine’s Day? Her lustrous blonde hair is that hard to find side part wig that was only made for one year -1957- as she was once a queen! She much prefers the quiet life these days, lounging in her boudoir reading romance novels. Her hair is amazingly shiny clean, refreshed by me, with tumbles of curls with ties and original spanner bar. Her truest blue eyes, with perfect original lashes, are probably the bluest I’ve seen yet. Her creamy, infused complexion, with high color original blush, eye shadow, and glossy red lips are a sight to behold!! Her exquisite beauty is further accentuated with triple crystal drop earrings and a little engagement solitaire ring I made just for her! She’s keeps herself fit – stringing is perfect for posing beautifully in any outfit you desire. She can even stand by herself if you balance her just right! No splits or cracks that I can see! Her arm and body color still match beautifully, so she can wear those revealing outfits without a problem. She retains her original have and knee blush as well. She’ll come to you in her favorite black lace teddy, vintage seamed stockings, and vintage ruffly black high heeled sandals. Oh, and let’s not forget her flirty little boa & bling!! The only imperfection I can find is that she has a very slight indent on her upper back, which you might be able to see in the tenth photo if you really search, but it’s extremely minor. I’m picking nits here. I believe it was in the manufacturing, and is hardly noticeable. She’s just a beautiful, hard to find doll! As If She Stepped Out Of. Cissy has a habit of perfection in any moment… And this Holiday Season is no exception. It’s an absolutely gorgeous confection… Blue satin underskirt, two layers of blue tulle, and the overlay of silver stars & braided silver trim. A beautiful blue & silver fitted drop-waist bodice is decorated with a small satin bow, and closure is at the back with four square snaps. This gown is in outstanding condition, with only a couple of very light age spots at the bottom of the satin underskirt on the side, which of course cannot be seen at all because there are three layers of fabric over it. Underneath Cissy wears the original ivory taffeta & tulle slip, matching panties, vintage hosiery & silver strappy sandals. Cissy chose rhinestone studs for her ears, a beautiful silver & rhinestone bracelet, and a sparkling “diamond” on her finger. She carries a lucite handbag encrusted with pretty silver flowers. Prized by collectors because of her rare outfit, this Cissy is one of the most pristeen high-end dolls I have ever come across. This doll is original to her outfit she came from the Madame Alexander factory wearing this ensemble. The original owner never undressed her and she was stored in a cabinet for years and years. Her hair and her face have not been touched no air-brushing, no re-blushing, no re-painting. This is very rare to find in the current world of vintage Cissy dolls. Her body is perfect, as you would expect, since she was never played with. Cissys golden blonde hair is styled in the formal way with the sides pulled up into a cluster of curls on the crown and cascading down into another cluster of curls at the nape. Her eyes are a sparkly blue-green color. She is a gorgeous doll one of Madame Alexanders most elegant! Cissy is wearing her tagged, original RARE evening gown that is known to collectors as the Camellia gown. This lovely gown is constructed of silk printed with camellias and roses. There is a small bow at the waist for accent and the skirt falls into graceful folds from the box pleats at the waist. The bodice has capped sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and there are tiny tucks at the bust and the shoulders. This ensemble has a matching velveteen stole lined in same fabric as the gown. There are two variations of the Camellia evening gown the variation on this Cissy is the rare version in fact, you hardly ever see it come up for sale. Cissys silk gown and the stole lining are not faded and the print is as bright, lovely and minty. The velveteen on the stole had faded, so the stole was de-constructed to save the lining and then re-constructed with vintage velveteen that exactly matched the non-faded part of her old stole. She still retained her original ivory taffeta panties and hooped taffeta petticoat. They are both in great condition just like her gown, but the petticoat elastic has relaxed, so I ran a thread through it. Cissys veil had pretty much disintegrated into nothing. Her high heel elastic was shot, so they were re-made with new insoles and new silver elastic to replicate the originals. The dolls original tear drop clear rhinestone earrings were still sparkly, but her necklace had blackened over the years and had no sparkle or shine left, so it was replaced with a new one. Her ring is original to her and is one of the non-adjustable rings so sought after by Cissy collectors. It is big and gorgeous. You dont see these rings very often. Cissy is wearing a new bracelet made of rose Swarovski rhinestones but best of all, she is also able to flirt because she carries a lovely little fan with a cherry blossom motif just the right accessory for this gown. This Cissy is just….. Special in so many ways. She is elegant by herself, but since she is dressed in a rare and beautiful outfit, she will be a very high-end, lovely addition to any collection. Here is a near flawless Madame. Alexander hard plastic walker doll. She is in the “Glamour Girl”. Group and she is called. She has a “Maggie” face. She is completely original. She has never been played with. She has all hair. Dress it tagged and she has. He original little round box attached. Her body is super. She has no bad or sour. Her eyes will open and. Close as they should. All her eyelashes are present. Left eylelashes have a couple tiny. Parts in them but they dont. Appear to be missing any lashes. Her dress is in excellent condition. There are no holes or stains. To mention is her dress has a few. Areas where it looks a little. Areas where the pink looks a tiny. Bit darker than other areas. Doll is in excellent condition for. The Best Of Both Worlds! This spectacular Cissy is a rare one… She is the Waltz Doll manufactured only in 1955, and the ONLY Cissy to ever have this gorgeous wig. She’s wearing a very rare day dress, FAO’s #26-3. This crisply tagged cotton dress has a flattering square neckline, puffed sleeves, and a slightly dropped waist giving way to a beautiful full skirt. Rhinestones are sprinkled on the bodice… Just the right touch of bling! There is one small fabric flaw on the right side of the dress in the wide yellow band of fabric; a very small strip appears a minuscule lighter than the rest of the band. I attempted to photograph this & it doesn’t show up in pictures, and of course it’s impossible to detect on display. The dress fastens at the back with four square snaps, and is near mint with no spots, stains, holes, rips or tears. Underneath Cissy wears orignal white panties, a custom made ric-rac trimmed white can-can slip, and vintage hosiery. Her sparkling purple sandals accent beautifully! Cissy carries vintage purple gloves & an original MA hatbox with the Fashion Academy Award medal. And oh, that fascinator! Could anything be any more perfectly suited to her look?
