Here for your consideration is a lovely blonde vintage Madame Alexander 21 Cissy Doll dressed in her minty tagged navy blue Cissy outfit from 1955. This outfit is often referred to as “Navy with Bolero 1955″. Dress (Mint): The dark navy blue dress and matching bolero are in mint condition. The taffeta is crisp. There are no rips, tears, holes, stains, or odors. There are five snaps running down the back of the dress and they are all present and attached. The armhole tulle is there. The little white grosgrain bow is attached as is the snap. Hat (Mint): The hat is in mint condition. The elastic that secures the hat under Cissy’s chin is present and not stretched. The wire within the brim of the hat is flexible and allows the hat to be molded. I dipped the brim in a bit just because I liked the look but I flatten the brim out when I removed the hat. Slip (Excellent) : The slip is vintage and there are no rips, tears, holes, stains, or odors. I took the waist band in a little bit because the elastic had stretched. This slip is exactly the length of the dress so if it is not tight on the doll’s waist it can slip down and reveal itself. The rick rack is a little larger than I’m use to seeing on Cissy’s slips. I don’t know if larger rick rack was used back in 1955 or if the rick rack was added later. Regardless, the slip is beautifully full and works perfectly with the dress. Panties (Not Original): Cissy is missing her original panties. She is wearing a sweet vintage girdle instead. (Perhaps she thought she needed the support). Stockings (Excellent) : The stockings are in excellent condition. They are vintage but were not made by the Alexander doll Company. I say this because the top elastic is brown rather than pink. The nylons have retained most of their elasticity. Shoes (Not Original) : The navy blue shoes are not original but they go nicely with this outfit. Gloves (Very Good): The vintage white nylon gloves are in very good condition for their age. There is a little staining on the seams of the fingers from the thread. Hat Box (Excellent): Pink Madame Alexander hat box with the. Fashion Academy Awards medallion attached to the elastic. The box is in excellent condition and empty. Two strand pearl necklace and two pearl bracelets. Doll (Excellent) : Cissy has beautiful facial coloring, full lashes, and crystal clear blue sleep eyes. Her blonde hair is thick and almost in its original set. Both of her knees bend with ease as do her arms. There are no cracks or splits. She will come to you wearing a hairnet so that her hair stays in place. Her only drawback and it’s minor is that her head has a tendency to tilt back a little when you lift her up but it’s easily put back into place and it will stay where you place it. Gorgeous Margaret Face Bride Doll, great color, perfect hair still in netting, clear eyes. Original aged box with tissue paper. Veil, bouquet, shoes, garter and nylons. Her beautiful clear eyes. Don’t open full if she has been laying down for a while. Simply how her upright against yourself with one hand and tap upwards at bottom of feet. I learned that from my doll club. They tell me that’s common. With these order dolls. There are brownish spots I see on front of gown and one on back. Might be able to remove, I didn’t try. Veil has little random holes, I tried to show in photo. Box of course is just old but it has bottom and top. Veil has not flowers, I see others that do and some that don’t. I asked the original (and only owner) states that the she never had flowers for the veil. Please ask for more specific photos if you like. This is a vintage Madame Alexander Cissy Doll. She has decent hair and original clothing. Face looks pretty but has some stains. Dress also has many light yellowish stains and other issues. This lovely doll wears a blue dress. The bodice of the dress is blue velvet and its skirt is sheer nylon. She wears a pink taffeta slip with matching panties. Rayon socks and black shoes with snaps on the side that also have fuzzy soles. She wears a blue hat with miniature flowers that match her pocketbook or muff. The beautiful Cissy doll. She’s a Madame Alexander Tagged 21 Inch hard plastic Cissy. She’s wearing a beautiful vintage pink dress and a vintage Richards pink and white rose bandeau. She is also wearing her original tagged chemis and gold strapped heels and stockings. She is in minty condition. She is strung tight from head to toe. She has full lashes on eyes that open and close as they should. She has no cracks, splits or odors. Her hair is thick and curly in its original set. Her dress is worn and has some areas that need mended on the lower back area. I put scotch tape on the areas that need sewed. Other than that this doll is a beauty.
