A beautiful Madame Alexander 1950s Cissy doll. She’s wearing a custom fall outfit, with hat and with a sparkly black petticoat. She is wearing original pearl dangling earrings. Cissy is strung tight and is jointed at neck, shoulders, elbows, knees and hips. She has gorgeous high color in the face. She has full lashes and eyes that open and close as they should. She has no breaks, splits or odors. She has a bit of glossy varnish on the upper backs of her arms that I have NOT been brave enough to try and remove. The usual outfit is in blue with a coat and different hat, but same skirt and similar blouse. This great condition outfit consists of a pink skirt, white blouse, ivory cardigan, fancy pink hat, and undies. First of all, the Alexander-kin is a BKW with a gorgeous triple stitch red wig and bright all original facial coloring. She is just so pretty in pink! There are no cracks splits in her hard plastic and her stringing is tight. The walker walks if somewhat hesitantly. Her beautiful sparkling eyes open and close easily. The pink skirt has good waist elastic and stays up nicely. There are two barely visible light brown marks on the skirt, one at the hem and one near the waist. Honestly they show up more in the pictures that in person. The white blouse is different than the blue outfit version in that it has a ribbed texture in front. The wonderful knit cardigan has no holes or stains and has good buttonholes and original buttons. Underneath is a full star slip, instead of a half slip, and matching star panties. Both in very good condition. The hat is so wonderful! It is the bandeau type hat with bunches of flowers on each side and tied under the chin with a pink bow. Finally the socks and fuzzy bottom black shoes are also in very good condition. What a special “Kin” to add to your collection! All items are carefully wrapped including tissue, bubble wrap, and most items are boxed. Items come from a non-smoking home. Large and in charge. Beautiful doll fashioned after a beautiful actress and singer. Someone (not me) took a another doll – possibly Arranbee or American Character – and redid the makeup to look like the original from Mme A, which costs in the thousands. Here we go for the description: Body: 20-21 hard plastic, freshly strung by me. Clean with no foul odors. Fingernails are painted a deep burgundy-pink. There is a scratch on the surface of her right cheek; C- shaped from the lower eye to the mole. She has the regular rooted eye lashes, but also false ones glued on top to give her that glamorous look. Clothing: Made by a seamstress and looks SO close to the original… But I’ve never seen an original in person. Pale pink/ peach satin gown with net overlay. Bodice is a thick daisy patterned lace scattered with rhinestone brads. Two snap back closure. Slip is not attached at the waist and is 1/2 crinoline. Cream color satin panties. Leatherette center-tie shoes have a few problem spots, possibly glue or build up of polish. Soles and heels are intact. Her stockings were in bad shape, so I removed them. I have tried to capture everything in the photos, but feel free to ask me anything you have a question about. I have displayed her in a smoke-free home away from direct sunlight. Just a regular doll collector. The eyelashes fell off. My response: I pack my girls very carefully, but mishaps like that can easily be fixed. The body is hollow. The dress is cheaply made. The arms are falling off. My response: This was my fault. At the time, the stringing tension seemed fair to me but I probably should have gone ahead and restrung her, which I have taken care of.
