Vintage Madame Alexander Lissy Doll In Complete Original Outfit

This very sweet Lissy doll from the late 1950s is still pretty much like she came from her original box, which I do not have. I have never undressed her and don’t think she had ever been undressed or played with before I got her. Her blue check taffeta dress is crisp and tagged. Her flocked slip and taffeta panties are equally crisp and with good elastic. Her seamed stockings appear perfect. The elastic on her original wedge shoes has relaxed a little, but looks fine with her on a stand. The stockings could be removed and a pair of Lissy socks used, which would help the elastic fit more snugly. Her white pinafore, which has buttons and a snap for closure, is not as white as when new and shows a little discoloration in the bodice. The fabric is a muslin type and trimmed with lace. The pinafore would respond very well to a soak to bring it back to its original whiteness. The elastic in the sleeves of the dress is snug, and the neckline is trimmed with white baby rickrack. It snaps in the back. Lissy is 11.5 inches tall and was made by Madame Alexander. I’m guessing she is from 1958, but could be off a year one way or the other. Her auburn hair is in its original factory set with a cute hair bow. Lissy is all hard plastic and has joints at the head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. I don’t see any cracks around her elbow joints or knee joints. Arms hold a pose, and head is not loose. Her eyes open and close with ease. I see blue in them, but the pupils are large so not sure if she was considered one of the pupil-less Lissy’s. She is from a smoke-free home and does not come with a stand or box.
