Madame Alexander 8″ “Edith the Lonely Doll & The Lonely Doll – Hardcover By Wright, Dare Book. The 8 Edith doll is dressed in pink and white gingham dress with a white apron. Her hair is fashioned in the original set ponytail and she has blue eyes and gold ear bobs. Her bear is original and I have added an additional one to better match the story. She is clean without stains or tears. She does not have a wrist tag or original box but will come in a vintage Madame Alexander box. Chair is not included. The story is told through a series of black-and-white photographs taken by the author, Dare Wright, who used her own childhood doll (Edith) and a pair of stuffed bears for the illustrations. The book has become a classic, with themes of loneliness, mischief, and the fear of punishment. The book spawned a series of other books featuring the same characters. Notes:Item in good condition with dust jacket. Number of Pages: 60-64. Size:8.50 x 11.00 x 0.31 in (21.59 x 27.94 x 0.79 cm). Weight:0.50 lbs (0.23 kg).
