Madame Alexander Dolls

Here is a classic example of a Queen Elizabeth coronation doll by Madame Alexander. Queen Elizabeth was made in 1957 to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth. This gorgeous vintage Cissy Doll is 19 inches tall, all hard plastic with socket head, five piece walking-style body, dark blue sleep eyes, and tosca hair in an elaborate arrangement of curl. The dress is tagged as. Cissy by Madame Alexander. The Body is marked on the back of her head under the hairline: ALEXANDER. Ivory brocade gown (1). Blue ribbon sash with jewels and adornments (1). Bracelets with faux jewels (2). Jeweled dangle earrings (2). And of course: Gold Crown with Jewels (1). Condition of Clothes & Accessories. The vintage clothes are in excellent condition with no stains, rips or repairs. All are original and have never been washed. The dress and sash are in pristine condition but could use an iron, which I decided not to use for photos so that the quality would not be compromised. The gloves and undergarments are aged in color as is typical with dolls this age. Elastic on the petticoat is stretched but otherwise the garment is in great condition. Please see photographs for detail. The hard plastic head, body and moveable limbs are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or repaint. There are slight superficial markings as photographed. The eye lashes are beautifully intact. Lids open and close fully. The hair needs to be re-styled but is in tact. I smoothed the hair out to take the pictures but it will need some fine tuning to get it back in tip top shape. The items included in this listing may have wear and flaws seen in vintage dolls. For sale is a Cissy walker by Madame Alexander dressed in the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation gown produced in 1957. The doll is in great condition, no cracks; one little mark on her left toe. Gown is tagged; there is a stain around the bottom of the gown; see pictures for condition – I haven’t tried to wash or clean it. Sash is in good shape with stones attached – crown is pulling away from plastic base, again, look at pictures to determine the condition. Her head needs tightening; it’s loose, and her left eyelashes have a small area missing. Her hairstyle has a side part and the hair could use a restyle, but seems full and all here. In 1953, Abraham & Strauss, the New York department store, commissioned Madame Alexander to create a doll-sized version of Queen Elizabeth IIs coronation! With a desire to ensure the best outfits for these dolls, Madame Alexander worked with the British Museum of Costume to create 36 dolls that represented the queen and her court with supreme accuracy Scott 15. This rare doll is part of a collection, and has almost NEVER been handled or touched. Complete with satin lined red velvet cape with gold trim (very rarely seen) , petticoat, tights, shoes, crown, jewels, and gloves. Some age spots on gown and petticoat, and satin cape lining (as shown), this doll has been wonderfully preserved and cared for. What an ideal addition to any collection! If you have one Queen in your collection, she doesn’t get any more regal than this! This is a very hard to find vintage Madame Alexander Cissy Queen Elizabeth Coronation doll circa 1957. She has a special side part tosca wig that is only found on this doll! She is in wonderful condition and has just been refreshed at Cissy’s Secret Spa, including restringing and blush. Her hair is in its original set. Her coloring is excellent, with original blushing at hands and knees. She has original full lashes and her green eyes open and close with ease. Her stunning gold brocade, tagged, gown is fabulous and correct for this doll! She has the rare slip that was only featured for this gown as well. She has her original panties, stockings and shoes, although the elasticity is showing age as to be expected. Amazingly, she still dons her original gauntlets, bracelets, and precious crown. I’ll include a little lucite purse I made especially for the Queen. The only issue I can find is that she has a slight pinkishness around her waist, but it’s really minor. She’s very clean and free of splits and cracks. Just a beautiful, hard to find doll! My dolls are vintage and therefore not perfect and they may show signs of age. All Cissy’s Secret items are from a non smoking, spotless studio. Props are not included.
