12″ Maria (Nancy Drew), 10″ Brigitta, Liesl, Louisa (Cissette) and 8 Gretl, Marta, Friedrich (Wendy Ann). “Some” of the dolls had their legs, arms, and heads that need to be restrung. To show them as they really look, taped their parts together to pose them. Condition – All the dolls (faces, eyes, hair, clothes) are in excellent condition, they were stored in a glass cabinet, and through time their rubber rotted, detaching some, not all, heads, arms and legs. Some need to be restrung as shown. 0 Cissette style Liesl is missing one of her brown high-heel shoes. All others have their original clothes, shoes, socks, stockings, hats and aprons in great condition. 12 inch Maria doll has the Madame Alexander Nancy Drew face and soft-plastic body. The three 10 inch teenage girls Brigitta, Liesl, and Louisa have the Madame Alexander Cissette face and bodies and wear high-heel shoes. The last three 8 inch Madame Alexander Wendy Ann face and bodies are Gretl, Marta, and the little boy Friedrich (also with knees that bend). I have over 1000 dolls. This lovely Nancy Drew doll is wearing her original labeled white coat and dress, green scarf and hair ribbon. Her hair is in good original condition. She has her boots, stockings, and undies. Her stringing is in good shape and she can remain posed and standing, if balanced carefully. Her blue sleep eyes open and close. She has her original hang tag, camera and red purse still attached by pink string. She has her white sunglasses with green lenses stored in her purse. She comes from a smoke-free home and does not have any strong or offensive odor. Faults: Her coat has a faint water mark on the front. Perhaps it could be cleaned, but I did not want to risk it. There are marks or label residue on the sole of her left boot. Her hang tag is a bit bent and her bangs could be tidied up a bit. She does NOT have her original box. Nancy Drew #1262 is a 12 character doll that was manufactured by Madame Alexander in 1967 only. She belongs to the Literature Series of dolls and is all original with a worn and detached wrist tag. Missing is its pink string. Nancy Drew is a pretty doll with finely stroked brown brows, blue sleep eyes with painted under lashes and fully molded upper lashes, blush, and a closed coral mouth. Her right eye may be a tad lighter than her left eye. Nancy Drew is complete with her tan linen? Brass buttoned coat (pinholes on lower left sleeve), coordinating tan A-line dress, blue scarf (faded), satin panties, nylons, and tan faux suede boots. The back of her coat is tagged Nancy Drew Madame Alexander New York U. Her long strawberry blonde/light auburn hair still retains one of its clear plastic hair pins, a fragment of its original hairnet, and its blue velvet ribbon which has become worn and soiled with age and storage. Her outfit remains fairly clean though her coat sustains an imperfection line in its weave to the right side of its third brass button, its button holes have dimmed possibly brass transfer, and its faux suede boots sustain wear & crackling to their faux suede with more notable white stitching pulls along their front seams. The outer edge of its right boot sustains a faint stain and dark scuff. Attached to Nancy Drew’s right hand via a pink thread are her red plastic bag and black camera. She does not come with sunglasses. Not sure she ever did– Her stringing is loose. Though she appears UN-played with she may need a gentle dusting and removal of grime around her neck opening. I believe that Nancy Drew #1262 is the first doll in the Nancy Drew series from 1967. She is certainly a rarity and may add further interest to your Nancy Drew collection. She has been in my collection for well over ten years now, but I have decided to part with her, though difficult. Nancy Drew was my favorite literary sleuth and heroine when I was a child. I spent many fond hours adventuring with her as she cleverly solved mysteries. Though I have tried to provide an honest and detailed description, I may have omitted information that is important to you. I have also provided photos that speak volumes. This is a very scarce & limited 1967 issue. She is wearing a nice 2 piece light blue tweed suit wit hot pink scarf & headband. Her hair maintains its original shape & styling. She comes with her box, catseye glasses with green lenses, red purse, camera, and the original tag – all still attached to her wrist. The only mystery she will be solving is why you haven’t already bought & paid for her! Marks : Madame Alexander – Nancy Drew – 1264 – box shows dress checked is green (see photo) but she is dressed in light blue. The only thing which may be an issue is that her legs are not tightly strung, but that may be as produced. I don’t know because I have never had the opportunity to examine another one.
