Madame Alexander Dress Dimity Clover Tagged for Cissy Doll. GORGEOUS Rare Cissy Dress!!! Vintage 1956 Boxed Extra (no box). Dimity Clover Page 114 of Cissy! This exceptionally Rare piece is in Excellent Condition with no rips, tears or holes. Original snap closures are present as are original rhinestones, velvet ribbon, and corsage. The dress fabric is crisp. There is some overall soiling, especially near neckline, and a faint spot on the front. Please see photos for condition detail. Delicate ribbed dimity fabric with small two toned pink clovers. Details include puffed sleeves trimmed with Val lace, an attached rich burgundy velvet ribbon sewn into a bow at waist, and rhinestones and corsage on bodice. Vintage 50′s high fashion Madame Alexander 20 Cissy doll in OOAK ensemble. Please view the last photo. The outfit on the right is a Christian Dior dress totally covered in flowers, and the ensemble on the left shows the same type of 50′s style with a flower encrusted bodice only. Cissy’s outfit is a two part bodice and skirt. The skirt is a full length lavender fluid charmeuse circle skirt that is fully lined with a lightweight tulle. The bodice has an inner lightweight crinoline and a cotton batiste outer shell, covered with vintage silk flowers and then lined. It snaps up the back with 3 square snaps. Under the ensemble is a full length satin 1/2 slip, a pair of Cissy panties with new elastic at waist, a pair of vintage nylons with a few small holes, and a pair of newly made lavender shoes. Please note that in the nude pictures of Cissy, you see a clear stone bracelet. It is not included, just the multicolored one. Also included is a matching hair clip made with same type flowers of the bodice and a pair of lovely purple gloves to accent her many colored flowers. Cissy herself is a show stopper! She has lovely, full long red hair that is tied up at the sides and pulled back into a long chignon. Her face has had a full spa treatment. All new painted lashes, brows, lips and blush. A matte finish/sealer was applied. She has new lashes in her gorgeous blue eyes. Her arms are nice and have no rips to the rubber. No odors or stains. No split repairs and very minimal inner thigh rubs. There is a small hairline split on the top of the right leg. So thin and not seen unless the leg is tipped out. We offer for your consideration a gently displayed, vintage 1955 through 1959 Cissy doll with her original panties and slip. Her sewed on outfit and sewed on red boots were designed and created by the courturiers of the Ice Capades in a minature model of the authentic costume. This is a prototype actually worn in one of the extravaganza shows. Most researchers of these Cissy Ice Capades costumes believe there is only one costume made for each show. You can see that she was well preserved and treated like a queen. She is from a pet and smoke free home. Her unclouded eyes are bright, engaging, and the eyelashes framing her eyes are intact. — —-You can see that the eyelashes on her left eye are full, but they are separated leaving a little space between the lashes. Her eyebrows are faded, but they still display well. Her lovely hair is glued onto a thick muslin cap. It appears very full with no missing or thinning areas. The style now pulls some hair away from the back left side of her scalp, which can be restyled to create a more full appearance. It appears even the little thread tie backs in her hair are original. She still has some of her curls. –Her two tone eyes are exquisite and framed by totally intact molded eyelashes and lower painted lashes. Her lips are full and unfaded. Her skin tone is light and even throughout all of her face, the torso I can get a view of, her arms, and legs. I can see she is free of splits or cracks in her plastic legs or her soft vinyl arms. Her hands, arms, and legs could use a gentle cleaning. Her hair net is still attached, but I did not want to remove it or pull it over her hair because I do not want to pull at her stringing. —–This doll is one of hundreds of dolls we bought from an adult lady collector downsizing her estate. Please note, she is as close to very displayable as you can find for a 65 year-old doll. You can see that I did not remove her clothing because her clothing was never removed. It is all sewn on to her- the bodice, skirt, and apron are secure with stitches. The dress shows multiple deteriorated areas, but from the waist and up is impressive. The crisp and multi-layer slip is still bright, very clean, and still has a stretchy elastic waist. The panties appear never removed and still bright with stretchy waist. —-She was only rarely removed from her showcase by the original adult collector. The doll was stored in a cool dark room in her pet and smoke free house. Her head poses nicely, but it is not the most stable connection. Someday you will want her head restrung. Her arms and legs are still the poseable vinyl plastic and still ready to pose for you, even after all of these years of display. —Although her dress shows major noticeable signs of age related discoloration, it is still incredibly rare and beautiful. I do not see any obvious missing areas of sequins. You can see some of the faded areas on the patches of her dress. Her crown is a fantastic piece of history in itself. It appears complete and amazing. It does have several pin holes in inconspicuous places. Thank goodness it was pinned on, it would have been lost. —She shows no damage, chews, stains, marks, or splits. I did not remove her clothing, but I was able to check her over visually. I assure you she is complete and whole. –We are consigning hundreds of similar dolls for this owner.
