1949-50 MADAME ALEXANDER 14 HARD PLASTIC MARGARET FACE GODEY LADY DOLL. THIS DOLL IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. SHE IS FAINTLY MARKED “ALEXANDER” ON BACK OF HEAD AND SHE HAS HER ORIGINAL SHAMROCK WRIST TAG. SHE HAS A BLONDE WIG, BLUE GLASS SLEEP EYES WITH FULL UPPER LASHES, A CLOSED MOUTH AND BLUSHING CHEEKS. HER FACIAL PAINT IS EXCELLENT. SHE IS JOINTED AT NECK, SHOULDER AND HIP. THE STRINGING IS A BIT LOOSE, SHE STRUGGLES TO HOLD A POSE. THERE ARE NO CRACKS OR SPLIT SEAMS AND ALL OF HER FINGERS AND TOES ARE INTACT. SHE WEARS HER “GODEY LADY” TAGGED GOWN. IT HAS A GOLD BRAID TRIMMED BLACK VELVET TOP AND BLACK LACE TRIMMED PINK TAFFETA SKIRT. SHE ALSO HAS A GREEN VELVET HAT TRIMMED WITH GOLD BRAID, LACE AND FEATHERS, AN ATTACHED PINK NYLON SLIP, BLOOMERS, SHOES AND SOCKS. THE OUTFIT IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. This is #491, Little Godey Lady, from 1955. She is 8 tall, made of hard plastic and is a straight leg walker. Her walker does not always work. She has a blonde triple stitch wig in a flip style, blue sleep eyes, perfect rosy cheeks and red lips. She is wearing a tagged, clean and crisp cerise taffeta gown, black felt jacket with black beading, matching hat with feather plume and rose, petticoat, pantaloons, rayon socks and black velveteen side snap shoes with fuzzy bottoms. She is in Pristine Condition and is Very Rare. She comes with her original Madame Alexander doll stand. She comes from a Private Collection and was displayed only in a climate controlled, pet and smoke free environment. She is in Pristine Condition and is Simply Adorable!!! . Rare 18 Vintage All Original Madame Alexander Glamour Girl Doll Godey Lady. She is one of 7 gorgeous dolls from the Madame Alexander Glamour Girls series – produced only in 1953. Please reference page 57-58 of book “Treasury of Madame Alexander Dolls” by Jan Foulke, C 1983, Second Edition, Hobby House Press, where the seven dolls in the series are pictured and described: A breath-taking series of seven ladies created by madame Alexander in 1953. All are 18 hard plastic dolls with walking mechanism…. All the costumes are of the Civil War Period Gone-With-theWind type…. Full skirts, tiny waists and hoop skirts. This beautiful 18 Glamour Girl Godey Doll is all original and very hard to find. These were high end dolls when made, and since they were made one year only, all seven are rarely found. She has the Maggie face, clear brown sleep eyes with all lashes intact, and is dressed in full length gown having apricot red taffeta skirt with white bodice and sleeves, over this she wears a gray faux fur stole lined with matching taffeta, ribbon ties. Matching bonnet has wide brim and gathered crown. She has wired crinoline petticoat with deep ruffled hem, ruffled bloomers, white thigh high seamed stockings and black shoes. Dress retains “Madame Alexander” cloth label – retains crisp lettering. She is a walker, head is a little loose, but turns smoothly when legs move. She has nice coloring – bangs are feathered and a little uneven but I believe that’s how she was made. There is no box or wrist tag, and no hat box. Shoes and stockings are in near mint condition. She will be a star addition to any collection of early Madame Alexander fashion ladies……… Or specialized collection of the 7 dolls that made up the Glamour Girl Series. Thank you for looking! Madame Alexander Lady Godey 14 Doll Vintage 1950′s w/clothes and tags. Hard plastic body; her eyes open and close. All original clothes and tags. The dolls is in good used condition for her age. Please see photos that show age-related? Spots on the right sleeve and the front and side of the dress. There also appears to be a slight split or pull age-related? In the front of the dress bodice. She was displayed but not played with. Like with many vintage dolls and doll clothes there may be occasional signs of prior use which contributes to the character of the dolls and their clothes.
