She s #2160- dressed in a short sleeved gown of dotted nylon net over blush pink taffeta with lace trim at neckline, wide satin sash, pink satin panties, bracelet and ring, thigh high nylon hose and silver high heels. She has beautifully styled hair with pink bow, and gorgeous crystal blue eyes….. She is in very good condition. She is marked “Alexander” on the back of the neck. She is 20 inches tall, hard plastic, high heel feet, jointed elbows and knees, sleep eyes, wigged, and very beautiful. She is missing her bonnet. Madame Alexander Margaret O’Brien 18 Inch Doll 1946-47 with Box No Reserve. 18 Madame Alexander Margaret OBrien Composition Doll. Dolls are not our greatest area of expertise, so please ask questions and offer additional information wherever possible. She was a child movie star in the 1940s. Alexander made her in composition in 1946-7. It appears that the clothing is faded but original. It is clear that she was played with, and while I didn’t take off her clothes, they appear to be faded but otherwise in good condition. She has a marking across her back that reads. The paper tag attached to her clothing reads. 1946 – Sears catalog – displayed OBrien Doll on one side and Directory of U. Trademarks – by – Luella Hart – Pg 29 – Margaret OBrien. 1949 Madame Alexander 20 In Fairy Queen. Doll: 20 in Margaret face doll. Doll is solid with no cracks at mold seams. Arms hold a pose. Beautiful face with working blue/green sleep eyes. Perfect strawberry blonde wig. This is a rare set of all 5 Dionne Quintuplets made by Madame Alexander in the 1930′s. They are made of composition and have the bent baby legs which I believe were the original dolls made. There are some cracks and chips to the composition and some tears to the fabric. They are the 7 inch size. Please look at both sets of pictures as I tried to take as many as possible. If you have any questions please ask. I offer it for you the same way I found it. Please view all pictures as the best description. This doll is truly precious with a darling pink coat, pants and matching hat! Under the coat there is a light pink dress and underclothes (see photos). All clothing appears to be original. The coat has an original Madame Alexander tag on the inside. Also, “Alexander” in raised letters appears on the back of the neck. The overall condition of this 80+ year old doll is very good. The “sleepy” eyes have some typical damage, but they are still pretty. We do not know if the eyes are original. The face has only slightly visible crazing or cracking near the hairline and the molded head looks like new! The doll also includes adorable little moccasins and socks. Since I acquired this doll I never removed the shoes or socks. The doll wears an “Yvonne” pin on her coat – I do not know if this is original. The coat has just a few tiny moth holes (see photos). All in all this doll would be a treasured addition to any vintage doll collection!!
