Sometimes when I go through my inventory I find one that I love and want to keep! This little doll is one of those. If my shelves weren’t full enough I think I might! I have researched her origins but could not find another like her. I went on Madame Alexander’s Face Book page to inquire of the members if anyone knew any information about her. I had a few answers that I will share with you. Possible someone dressed her as Thailand. Could be clothing that came on a souvenir doll, definitely Thai. Looks like the doll used for the Halloween Trunk, who is sporting a handmade garment. Unfortunately, no one could identify this doll. I believe that someone did painstakingly make her outfit, very professional and beautiful. No rips, tears, and no missing sequins. I was curious about her head covering–according to Google, in Thailand, the headdress is known by two names: chada and mongkut, and feature a distinctive tall, pointed shape, which was probably acquired from the lomphok, a pointed cloth headdress of Persian origin, during the Ayutthaya period. In any case, you will have one of the only one of this doll to add to your collection.
