Vintage 1941, Madame Alexander – JEANNIE WALKER 14, One of the Cutest Dolls! This most adorable doll is extremely rare and hard to find in her original condition. She was made for one year only, 1941. Stands at about 14 tall, her composition is overall a damage free body (except her head is loose). There are no cracks, nicks or stains. She wears her original brown human hair wig, has clear sparkling, amber eyes with all their lashes, finely painted lower lashes and brows, smokey shadow, lots of blush and a rosebud mouth. Wearing a 1940′s organdy print dress (it’s not tagged but could be original) white socks and black side-snap shoes. Of course, she has a hat with millinery flowers. Antique/ vintage c 1941 Madame Alexander doll. Tagged blue dress with yellow apron. Presented here is a beautiful vintage 1941 Jeannie Walker Madame Alexander doll. She is all composition, jointed arms and legs, head turns. Lovely face with original amber-brown eyes, soft eye shadow, painted lower lashes, thick hair upper lashes, single stroke brows and sweet coral mouth. Her wig is replaced, it is really lovely with tight finger curl ringlets, they are held with the old hair pins, light brown color. The body is in good condition, she has dark red nail polish which is original, not perfect, a little worn. The doll is overall very excellent, there is only very minor, fine crazing, nothing noticeable. There is some damage to the top of the head where the old wig was glued, some old glue and a couple of spots where the finish is off. She is marked on the back; Alexander Doll Co/ Pat No. Her dress is tagged. She wears a blue dress with puff sleeves, matching bloomers and a yellow organdy Swiss dot apron/ pinafore on top. She has white crochet socks and black ankle tie shoes. To top it off she has a pretty straw bonnet with blue trim. The clothing is all in excellent vintage condition, clean, sturdy, no stains, no tears, it has some new elastic woven in the top of the bloomers and cuffs where the original elastic has lost the stretch. When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, Finish is satiny, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. Adorable JEANNIE She has her Clear brown sleep eyes. She wears a nice strawberry MOHAIR wig. Her outfit is a factory made Blue Swiss Dot sheer fabric. It has a matching tam, and is in great shape. There are a cotton underslip and panties, Good vintage leather shoes. More beauties listed, so please take a look. Please look at all the pictures. There are good & clear close-ups. The item has been photographed well. The pictures are part of the description & support both the description and condition of the item. You have the option to use the magnification feature as well. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was factory made (not what a 80 year old faded doll looks like). With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. Their imperfections are part of the charm of composition. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I line the head socket with suede. I have been a skilled Artist all my life.
