Madame Alexander Dolls

This doll is from 1955 – the First Year of the Cissy Doll! This Lovely Cissy came from original owner and was well taken care of. I know she was from 1955 because she came in the very minty navy taffeta dress and blue straw hat I have in separate listings. Hat being worn for many years caused some flyaway hairs. Cissy has her original hard curls in her tosca bob hairdo and all original blush on face hands and knees – NOT Retouched. Her Painted features are very nice with gray eye shadow which still remains. Lashes are nice on her lovely blue sleep eyes with gold highlights. She has luscious red lips and nice light pinkish flesh color which matches well all over. She has the older painted body which is one of the nicest for her age that I have found. There are barely any rub marks on neck with some paint rubs on inside legs at top, which are typical, and a few small knicks here and there, and one ink mark on back of one arm which I haven’t tried to remove. Her coloring is nice and a lovely example of the 1955 Cissy. This girl is clean with no odors. She moves and poses well, as she should. There are no knee splits. Inside one hip has very small crack, if you look way down inside, but does not show from outside nor can I get photo of it. Only other thing I see to mention is a piece of vinyl is missing on rim of right arm. It does not show when she is posed only if arm is pulled out. Her movement is not effected in any way. She will come to you wearing a replacement white lace chemise with pink bows and pink faux pearl necklace. She will be lovely displayed as is… Or dress her however your heart desires! Vintage Madame Alexander POLLY PIGTAILS Doll 14 in GREAT CONDITION! All parts work beautifully and the wig holds to head remarkably. Minor damage to the hat and dress but its not really noticeable. Wow what a beautiful doll! This particular doll really knocks me out. Her coloring is just fantastic. She has a light brown/tosca wig that is tight to her head and full of shine. Tosca is not my favorite hair color but occasionally you get one that is particularly pretty and to me that is the case with this doll. Her facial coloring is perfection. She has a matte finish to her plastic and her original cheek color is really bright. What really brings it all together are her dark pupiless eyes. Her darling outfit is in great condition. The blue felt coat has no holes or stains and is a beautiful color blue that has not faded or yellowed. A couple of the buttons on the sleeve have lost a little color but it does not detract in any way. Her matching hat is also just beautiful with no holes or stains and the white pom poms are still very white and not yellowed. Her white dress is in good condition and is a nice white color which is free of holes, tears or odors. There is one tiny brown spot on the back of the dress in a fold that is really hard to see unless you know it is there and you are looking for it. Under the dress is a star slip and bloomers. They are both in excellent. With nice tight original stretch to the elastic. To finish off the outfit she wears a perfect pair of black fuzzy bottom shoes and white socks. The box is marked Wendy Kins 380 brunette. She came to me in this box so I believe it could be correct for this doll although I have seen the number 621 also referenced with this outfit. The doll is spectacular with beautiful high coloring that is all original. She has shiny brunette hair that is nice and tight to her head and in the original set topped with a pink bow. The organdy dress is beautiful and shows just the slightest bit of aging to the pink organdy. It has no holes, stains, tears or odors. Under the dress is a beautiful pink slip and bloomers. The slip is a pink organdy and is just fabulous with nice tight elastic. She wears black smooth bottom shoes and white sock that are both in perfect condition. Up for your consideration is this all original Madame Alexander Princess Elizabeth doll. She is in her original box with her original tissue paper. The tissue was probably pink at one time, but has faded to a beige. The box measures approximately 17 inches by the 8 inches by 6 inches. The box itself is in remarkably good shape considering its age! There is wear to the blue paper covering that I feel is commensurate with its age. One corner of the top is split and there is a crack across the top. The top is covered with the blue paper and has gold paper covering the sides. Fit for a princess! I think I was the first person to remove her from her box! She was found in a house that was being renovated, still wrapped in wrapping paper and tied up with a string. Imagine my surprise when I opened it up and found this! She is just darling and her face is just a bit dirty. There is a slight craze line below her left eye which is visible in the closeup of her face. Any other areas that look as though they have cracks are just an errant hair that I couldn’t move and get to stay! She measures approximately 16 inches in height. Her clothing is still crisp and brightly colored. She has no odor at all. Her wig styling is still good and she has a gold sequined head band, which I assume is supposed to be her Tiara. She still has her little ankle socks and gold Mary Jane shoes. Her wrist tag is still present and attached to her right wrist. She has a Merry Christmas tag attached to her left wrist with red ribbon that says “From Grandma” and has the year 1940 written on it in pencil. I don’t believe that this doll was ever played with. Her skirt still has the original tissue stuffed up into it, just as it was packed at the factory. I have not removed her clothing, as it appears that the clothes have never been disturbed. She is still strung together with what I would assume is her original stringing. Her facial features are beautiful, with multi stroke eyebrows, eyeshadow, delicately painted lower eyelashes, red lips with 4 visible teeth and nice cheek blush. There are some eyelashes missing on her left eye. The irises of her eyes are crazed, probably from being packed away in an area that was not very climate controlled. I’m sure that someone with some skill could replace these. Please look carefully at my photo as they are an important part of my description. This is a really interesting ensemble for Cissy from 1955. It’s the HTF Taffeta Raincoat with Hat in chartreuse checks, with the matching dress. The raincoat and hat were a boxed extra from 1955, and the dress was also a boxed extra from that year. You can see both in Kiley Shaw’s “The Cissy Files” on p. 56 (dress) and on p. The outfit is in very good condition with no stains, tears, or damage. The very top of the hat has a very faint spot that is hard to see, but wanted to mention. The dress is shown in the book with a black belt and it says there are belt loops on the dress. This dress didn’t have the belt, but there are no belt loops at the waist either making me think there was never a belt with this particular dress. The whole outfit looks just gorgeous together and would display wonderfully on your Cissy. I’ve listed other Cissy items you might also want to see. The hat is in great shape with no issues to the lace back or netted sides. The hats color has aged some and it is not as white as it once was but there are no stains or holes. The navy blue corded tie is in good condition and is still nice an long. This hat is the perfect thing to complete any of your early Alexander Kins outfits. This is a stunning 1955 Alexander-kins hat for outfits #457 “Wendy Goes To Sunday School” and “Curly Locks” #472. 25 and on outfit #472 in the “World of Alexander Kins” by P. Smith on page 155. The hat is in excellent condition with no issues what so ever. The color is beautiful and the pink flowers are in terrific shape. This doll is one of the prettiest Alexander Kins I have seen. She is an obviously unplayed with doll who has spent her life in the box. The dolls color is fantastic. She has a nice matte finish, highly blushed cheeks, wonderful all over complexion and dark pupiless eyes. Her hair is shiny, tight to her head and in a special style adorned with a spray of beautiful flowers. Her dress is still very white and has swiss dots all over it and around the waist is a blue bow that is still factory tied and beautiful. The dress is free of any stains, tears, holes or odors. Under her dress she has a organdy long slip with tight stretch elastic. Her bloomers are also perfect with tight elastic and no issues. She wears blue fuzzy bottom shoes that show no wear. The only thing missing is her diploma which must have gotten lost at some point through the years. The box is in good condition and just shows just normal wear from age. It is correctly labeled 399 and comes with her booklet and neck brace. All together this is a truly fantastic doll that will be a star in your collection!
